Clinical Relevance of Clonal Hematopoiesis in the Oldest-Old Population: Analysis of the "Health and Anemia" Study
Conclusion. Clonal hematopoiesis was associated with reduced survival in an oldest-old population. Specific mutational profiles define different risks of developing MDS and inflammatory/vascular diseases. Medical Conditions Among Survivors of Adolescent and Young Adult Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL), Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
Conclusion: This study found that sociodemographic factors were associated with the risk of developing medical conditions in AYA NHL, ALL and AML survivors. As expected, the risk of medical conditions varied by cancer type and treatment, with those undergoing SCT having a higher risk of medical conditions regardless of cancer type. NHL and ALL survivors who were uninsured or publicly insured were at a consistently higher risk of developing medical conditions, as were Hispanic ALL survivors and Black AML survivors. Saliva-Omics in Plasma Cell Disorders -- Proof of Concept and Potential As a Non-Invasive Tool for Monitoring Disease Burden and MRD Status
This study provides proof of concept that a range of biologically significant proteins of interest can be reliably detected in the saliva of MM and MGUS patients. The observation of differential expression of FABP5 between MGUS and MM identified these as candidate proteins relevant to malignant transformation of MGUS to symptomatic MM. The demonstration of decreased abundance of FABP5 after achieving remission indicates a correlation with tumour burden. Changing Incidence of Major Cardiovascular Events in Multiple Myeloma Patients over Time
Conclusion: CVD is a common complication in MM patients: within 5 years of a MM diagnosis, over 25% develop CVD requiring hospitalization. Contrary to our hypothesis, we did not find increased CVD admissions in the most recent era. A Retrospective Study of Comorbidities and Complications in Elderly Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients in the United States
There is limited information on the comorbidities and complications in elderly AML patients. In a sample of 3,911 AML patients ( ≥ 65 years) identified from the SEER-Medicare database, AML patients had more comorbidities, higher rates of complications, and a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and stroke compared to matched non-cancer controls.

Fluorescent activity-based probe for the selective detection of Factor VII activating protease (FSAP) in human plasma
The zymogen form of circulating Factor VII activating protease (FSAP) is activated by histones that are released as a consequence of tissue damage or excessive inflammation. This is likely to have consequences in a number of disease conditions such as stroke, atherosclerosis, liver fibrosis, thrombosis and cancer. To investigate the existence, as well as the concentration, of active FSAP (FSAPa) in complex biological systems an active site probe is needed. We used Hybrid Combinatorial Substrate Library (HyCoSuL) to screen for natural and unnatural amino acids that specifically bind to P4-P2 pockets of FSAPa.

Prophylaxis of Venous Thromboembolism after Hospital Discharge in Internal Medicine: Findings from the Observational FADOI-NoTEVole Study.
CONCLUSION: In this study, one in five patients discharged from an Italian IMU received prophylaxis for VTE. The perceived thrombotic risk is significantly related to the use of prophylaxis.
