Is the diagnosis of calcified laryngeal cartilages on panoramic radiographs possible?
Conclusion: In most cases, calcified laryngeal cartilages could be diagnosed on panoramic radiographs. However, due to variation in the calcifications, diagnosis may be difficult. PMID: 29963483 [PubMed]

Amaurosis, an Unusual Complication Secondary to Inferior Alveolar Nerve Anesthesia: A Case Report and Literature Review
Ocular complications after an inferior alveolar nerve anesthesia are rare. These complications, although temporary and benign, can be distressing to both the patient and the clinician. A 37-year-old male patient was administered an inferior alveolar nerve block for the root canal treatment of tooth #30. Immediately after the administration of local anesthesia, the patient reported complete loss of vision. The patient recovered completely after 15  minutes. In particular, amaurosis is quite uncommon and usually heralds a more sinister pathology such as stroke.

Algorithm to analyze cardiac risk
The risk of suffering a cardiac event related to invasive dental treatment is higher in the first 4 weeks after the treatment compared to other time periods. For patients who have cardiac disease, an additional risk for major cardiac events or stroke exists. To judge the risk for such cardiac responses, dentists would benefit from having a method of identifying patients with heart disease whose condition puts them at higher cardiac risk levels. Effect of Surface Pretreatment and Thermal Activation of Silane Coupling Agent on Bond Strength of Fiber Posts to Resin Cement.
CONCLUSION: Surface treatment procedure, on fiber post by silanization and sandblasting significantly improved adhesion between post and luting cement interface. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The surface pretreatment, such as sandblasting, silanization, thermal activation of silane coupling agents significantly improved, the retention of the post within in the root canal system. Periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases: Consensus report.
CONCLUSIONS: The present review reports the proceedings of the workshop jointly organised by the EFP and the World Heart Federation (WHF), which has updated the existing epidemiological evidence for significant associations between periodontitis and CVD, the mechanistic links and the impact of periodontal therapy on cardiovascular and surrogate outcomes. Prevalence of herpesviruses in periodontal disease of the North Indian population: A pilot study
Conclusions: Within the limitation of this study, EBV was found in cases of periodontitis patients. Its role in disease initiation and progression is not clear. Further studies are required to ascertain EBV as risk factor in periodontal disease.

Assessment of Periodontal Status Based on Carotid Artery Intima Media Thickness
Conclusion: The results of the study concluded that periodontal disease and poor oral hygiene were more severe among the subjects with CIMT> 1 mm. To halt the progression of increasing CIMT, preventive oral health programmes need to be integrated in the cardiac setting with established dental referral which can bring out positive health behaviours.

Mapping the link between cardiac biomarkers and chronic periodontitis: A clinico-biochemical study
Conclusion: The study reveals, a strong association between periodontitis and diseases of cardiovascular nature, highlighting the need for awareness and timely medical interventions to prevent periodontitis from scaling up and interfering with the risk of cardiovascular problems.
