Analysis of prognostic risk factors for ischaemic stroke in China: A multicentre retrospective clinical study-a national survey in China
CONCLUSIONS: Our study identified sex differences in stroke-related disability, recurrence, and death and attempted to explain the causes of these differences. Our study clearly showed that a large proportion of this difference can be attributed to age, socioeconomic factors, lifestyle habits and medical history, which are confounded by sex, rather than sex per se.PMID:35362370 | DOI:10.2174/1567202619666220331160024

Elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase levels are associated with stroke recurrence after acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that elevated GGT levels were positively associated with an increased risk of stroke adverse outcomes, namely, recurrence, ischemic stroke, and combined vascular events.PMID:35789538 | DOI:10.1111/cns.13909

Soluble lectin-like oxidized low-density Lipoproteinreceptor-1 and recurrent stroke: A nested case-control study
CONCLUSIONS: sLOX-1 was positively associated with the risk of recurrent stroke, which may be a candidate biomarker to improve risk stratification of recurrent stroke.PMID:35909324 | DOI:10.1111/cns.13932

Association between diabetes duration and 1 ‐year prognosis of stroke: A national registry study
ConclusionsLong-term diabetes duration ( ≥8 years), but not short-term diabetes duration, was associated with an increased risk of 1-year stroke recurrence in patients with ischemic stroke or TIA.

Prevalence and the age of onset patterns of stroke in Jiangsu Province, China
ConclusionsThe findings emphasize the importance of implementing stroke prevention interventions in Jiangsu Province, China, especially for urban, smoking, and drinking males. It is of great significance to strengthen comprehensive management of health-related behaviors, including smoking cessation and moderate consumption of alcohol to have sustained beneficial effects on stroke risk.Chenlu He and Qian Chen contributed equally to this work.

Relationship of the metabolic score for insulin resistance and the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension: A cohort study
ConclusionsThis cohort study suggests a relationship between METS-IR and the risk of stroke and ischemic stroke. Further studies are required to elucidate the underlying mechanisms.

Lipid management in ischaemic stroke or transient ischaemic attack in China: result from China National Stroke Registry III
Conclusions The LDL-C goal achievement rate has increased mildly in the stroke and TIA population in mainland China. Lowered baseline LDL-C level was significantly associated with a decreased short- and long-term risk of ischemic stroke among stroke and TIA patients. LDL-C<1.4mmol/L might be a safe standard for this population.
