Effectiveness of cerebellar vermis intermittent theta-burst stimulation in improving trunk control and balance function for patients with subacute stroke: a randomised controlled trial protocol
This study will be a prospective single-centre double-blind randomised controlled clinical trial with a 3-week intervention and 3-week follow-up. Eligible participants will be randomly allocated to the experimental group or the control group in a 1:1 ratio. After routine conventional physical therapy, patients in the experimental group will receive cerebellar vermis iTBS, whereas patients in the control group will receive sham stimulation. The overall intervention period will be 5 days a week for 3 consecutive weeks. The outcomes will be measured at baseline (T0), 3 weeks postintervention (T1) and at the 3-week follow-up (...

Efficacy and safety of human-derived neural stem cell in patients with ischaemic stroke: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial
Introduction Stroke is the most common cause of neurological disability in adults worldwide. Neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation has shown promising results as a treatment for stroke in animal experiments. The pilot investigation of stem cells in stroke phase 1 and phase 2 trials showed that transplantation of the highest dose (20 million cells) was well tolerated. Preliminary clinical benefits have also been observed. However, the trials were open-label and had a small sample size. Furthermore, human NSCs (hNSCs) were intracerebrally implanted, and some serious adverse events were considered to be related to the surgic...

Indobufen or Aspirin on Top of Clopidogrel after Coronary Drug-eluting Stent Implantation (OPTION): a Randomized, Open-label, Endpoint-blinded, Non-inferiority Trial
Conclusions: In Chinese patients with negative cardiac troponin undergoing DES implantation, indobufen plus clopidogrel DAPT compared with aspirin plus clopidogrel DAPT significantly reduced the risk of 1-year net clinical outcomes, which was mainly driven by a reduction in bleeding events without an increase in ischemic events.PMID:36335890 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.062762

Biomarker of early neurological deterioration in minor stroke and proximal large vessel occlusion: A pilot study
ConclusionEND in minor stroke with LVO was distinguishable from those without END following the determination of pNFL in the blood samples within 24 h of onset. The pNFL is a promising biomarker of END in minor stroke with LVO.Clinical trial registrationChiCTR1800020330.

Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation in poststroke cognitive impairment: protocol for a randomised controlled trial
Background As one of the most common stroke sequelae, poststroke cognitive impairment significantly impacts 17.6%–83% of survivors, affecting their rehabilitation, daily living and quality of life. Improving cognitive abilities among patients in stroke recovery is therefore critical and urgent. Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (TAVNS) is a non-invasive, safe, cost-effective treatment with great potential for improving the cognitive function of poststroke patients. This clinical research will evaluate the effectiveness, and help elucidate the possible underlying mechanisms, of TAVNS for improving posts...

Research progress on the effect and mechanism of Tai Ji Quan in the treatment of post-stroke depression
AbstractTo explore the clinical efficacy and possible mechanism of Tai Ji Quan for post-stroke depression (PSD), literature related to Tai Ji Quan and PSD were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Academic Journal Full-text Database (Wanfang), Chongqing VIP Database (CQVIP), China Biology Medicine Disc (CBM), and PubMed, screened and then summarized. The results showed that Tai Ji Quan could effectively improve the depression and quality of life of stroke patients, and there were differences in the clinical efficacy among different training programs. Tai Ji Quan has the characteristics of ...

Bibliometric review of 1992 –2022 publications on acupuncture for cognitive impairment
ConclusionThis research provides valuable information for the study of acupuncture. Diseases focus on mild cognitive impairment (MCI), Alzheimer's disease (AD), and vascular dementia (VaD). Tauopathies with hyperphosphorylation of Tau protein as the main lesions also need to be paid attention to. The development of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) will better explain the therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment. The effect of acupuncture on a single point is more convincing, and acupuncture on Baihui (GV20) may be needed in the future. Finally, the implementation of high-quality multicenter randomized contro...

Comparison of Net Clinical Benefit Between Clopidogrel and Ticagrelor Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients in China With Acute Coronary Syndrome
CONCLUSION: In Chinese ACS patients who underwent PCI with second-generation DESs, outpatient use of clopidogrel dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) was associated with reduction in NACCE and bleeding.PMID:34904209 | DOI:10.1007/s12325-021-01907-3

Utility of a pharmacogenetic-driven algorithm in guiding dual antiplatelet therapy for patients undergoing coronary drug-eluting stent implantation in China
ConclusionTailored DAPT based on the PRiS could assist in improving the prognosis of patients undergoing DES implantation. Further randomized controlled trials are required to provide more evidence for PRiS-guided DAPT.

Predictive models for adverse clinical outcomes in Chinese patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting
CONCLUSION: Chinese patients with AF and coronary stenting had high mortality and incidence of MACCE. We compiled separate predictive models for all-cause death, IS/STE, MACCE, and major bleeding.PMID:34353224 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2021.1950367
