Predictive models for adverse clinical outcomes in Chinese patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting
CONCLUSION: Chinese patients with AF and coronary stenting had high mortality and incidence of MACCE. We compiled separate predictive models for all-cause death, IS/STE, MACCE, and major bleeding.PMID:34353224 | DOI:10.1080/00015385.2021.1950367

Analysis of individualized antiplatelet therapy for patients of acute coronary syndrome after percutaneous coronary intervention under the guidance of platelet function: A one-center retrospective cohort study
There is controversy in clinical application of antiplatelet drugs by monitoring platelet function. Therefore, we explored whether early and dynamic medication could bring better clinical outcomes for patients under the guidance of platelet function tests (PFT). In this retrospective cohort study, we analyzed the prognostic events of 1550 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) at Tianjin People's Hospital in China. They received dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) from January 2017 to December 2018. The primary endpoint was based on the Bleeding Academic Research Consorti...

Safety and efficacy of low-dose ticagrelor in Chinese patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
Platelets. 2021 Apr 4:1-8. doi: 10.1080/09537104.2021.1909717. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIt remains unclear whether low-dose ticagrelor offers better safety and similar efficacy for Asian patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). We aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of low-dose ticagrelor vs standard-dose ticagrelor in Chinese patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). In this observational cohort study, a total of 2110 ACS patients who were event-free at 3 months after the index PCI were divided into standard-dose ticagrelor (90 mg twice daily) (n = 1830) or low-dose ticagre...

The Association of Low Molecular Weight Heparin Use and In-hospital Mortality Among Patients Hospitalized with COVID-19
ConclusionsAmong hospitalized COVID-19 patients, LMWH use was associated with lower all-cause in-hospital mortality than non-LMWH users. The survival benefit was particularly significant among more severely ill patients.

Effect of acupuncture treatment on post-stroke cognitive impairment: A randomized controlled trial
Introduction: Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI), which has a high morbidity, is closely associated with the recurrence and rehabilitation of ischemic stroke. There are 2 different stages of PSCI, including post-stroke cognitive impairment with no dementia (PSCIND) and post-stroke dementia (PSD). The latter has a significantly higher mortality rate than the previous one. Therefore, preventing the onset of PSD is of vital importance. However, there is no unequivocally effective prevention or treatment for PSCI, except intensive secondary prevention of stroke. The primary aim of this protocol is to explore whether a...

Type A aortic dissection in the East and West: A comparative study between two hospitals from China and the US
ConclusionsThere was a significant increase in the number of ATAAD at NDTH during the study period while the number at MGH remained stable. Hypertension was a common major risk factor; however, the onset of ATAAD at NDTH was nearly one decade earlier than MGH. Chinese patients tended to have more complicated preoperative pathophysiology at presentation and underwent more extensive surgical repair.
