Abstract The last ten years have seen rapid strides in the evolution of nonvitamin K oral anticoagulants (NOACs) for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Role of vitamin D in cerebrovascular disease
Conclusions: After reviewing current literature on the subject, we conclude that there are some data to suggest the role of vitamin D in patients with stroke but it cannot be concluded as a risk factor for stroke. Larger population-based studies are needed to confirm the causative role of vitamin D in stroke.

Study: Medtronic touts increased AF detection with Reveal Linq system
Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) today released 1-year results from a study of patients who experienced a cryptogenic stroke, claiming that its Reveal Linq insertable cardiac monitor was able to detect atrial fibrillation at a greater rate than previously reported in a 2014 clinical trial.
