Neutrophil Recruitment in Arterial Thrombus and Characteristics of Stroke Patients with Neutrophil-Rich Thrombus
CONCLUSION: Neutrophils were recruited and increased in arterial thrombosis in a time-dependent manner; however, they were not associated with the growth of formed thrombi. Neutrophil fractions in the thrombi of stroke patients appeared to be associated with atrial fibrillation and erythrocyte fraction.PMID:36303310 | PMC:PMC9629897 | DOI:10.3349/ymj.2022.0328

Baicalin Reduces Immune Cell Infiltration by Inhibiting Inflammation and Protecting Tight Junctions in Ischemic Stroke Injury
In conclusion, baicalin could reduce BMECs apoptosis, protect tight junctions, and resist immune cell infiltration, thereby alleviating ischemic stroke. Our findings potentially provide a novel treatment strategy for ischemic stroke.PMID:36661075 | DOI:10.1142/S0192415X23500180

A Novel Rat Model of Embolic Cerebral Ischemia Using a Cell-Implantable Radiopaque Hydrogel Microfiber
We present a novel rat model of focal infarct restricted to the middle cerebral artery territory using a radiopaque hydrogel microfiber positioned under fluoroscopic guidance. By comparing the use of stem cell-containing versus non-containing fibers in this stroke model, it would be possible to determine the efficacy of"pure" cell transplantation in treating stroke.

Muscone promotes functional recovery by facilitating microglia polarization into M2 phenotype through PPAR- γ pathway after ischemic stroke
Cell Immunol. 2023 Mar 5;386:104704. doi: 10.1016/j.cellimm.2023.104704. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTExploring regimens to facilitate microglia transformation from M1 to M2 phenotype is a feasible strategy to suppress neuroinflammation, therefore reinforcing functional recovery after ischemic stroke. Muscone easily crosses the blood brain barrier (BBB) and distributes throughout the brain. Here, the results illustrated the administration of 8 mg/kg muscone promoted functional recovery through reducing the infarct volume by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining after ischemic stroke in mice. Then, the express...
