Multimodality imaging of carotid web: A case report and literature review
CONCLUSIONS: carotid web is an under-recognized cause of ischemic stroke. It is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed. Carotid revascularization can effectively prevent recurrent stroke for patients with symptomatic carotid web. Multicomponent material property characterization of atherosclerotic human carotid arteries through a Bayesian Optimization based inverse finite element approach
CONCLUSION: The developed iFEM approach combined with the inverted GP model successfully predicted component-wise material properties of intact atherosclerotic human carotids ex-vivo under physiological-like loading conditions.SIGNIFICANCE: We developed a novel iFEM framework for the nonlinear, component-wise material characterization of atherosclerotic arteries and utilized it to obtain human atherosclerotic carotid material properties. Improving Ischemic Stroke Care With MRI and Deep Learning Artificial Intelligence
Advanced magnetic resonance imaging has been used as selection criteria for both acute ischemic stroke treatment and secondary prevention. The use of artificial intelligence, and in particular, deep learning, to synthesize large amounts of data and to understand better how clinical and imaging data can be leveraged to improve stroke care promises a new era of stroke care. In this article, we review common deep learning model structures for stroke imaging, evaluation metrics for model performance, and studies that investigated deep learning application in acute ischemic stroke care and secondary prevention.

Predicting Brain Age at Slice Level: Convolutional Neural Networks and Consequences for Interpretability
Conclusion: Compared to whole brain-based predictive models of neuroimaging-derived brain age, slice-based approach improves the interpretability and therefore the reliability of the prediction of brain age using MRI data.
