The J-shape Association between Total Bilirubin and Stroke in Older Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome: A Multicenter Study
ConclusionsBoth lower and higher bilirubin levels may increase the risk of stroke in older persons with OSAS, and there was a J-type dose-response relationship. The risk of stroke was lowest when the TBil level was approximately 11.5µmol/L.

The PAr index, an indicator reflecting altered vitamin B-6 homeostasis, is associated with long-term risk of stroke in the general population: the Hordaland Health Study (HUSK).
Conclusions: Higher plasma PAr was independently associated with increased risk of incident stroke in all participants and across all subgroups stratified by conventional risk predictors. Our novel findings point to and expand the range of inflammation and immune activation processes that may be relevant for the pathogenesis and prevention of stroke. Prevent 2nd Stroke: a pilot study of an online secondary prevention program for stroke survivors.

Value of Triglyceride-glucose Index for the Estimation of Ischemic Stroke Risk: Insights from a general Population
ConclusionThe prevent ischemic stroke correlated proportionally with the increment of TyG, implicating the linearity of TyG as an indicator of ischemic stroke. Our findings suggest the potential value of TyG to optimize the risk stratification of ischemic stroke in a general population.

Association between serum hepatocyte growth factor and prognosis of ischemic stroke: the role of blood lipid status
ConclusionsThere was a modified effect of blood lipid status on the association between serum HGF and ischemic stroke prognosis. Elevated serum HGF was associated with outcomes in ischemic stroke patients with dyslipidemia, especially low HDL-C. Further studies are warranted to replicate our findings and clarify the potential biological mechanisms.
