Predictors of Noticing Stroke Educational Campaign
Conclusions: Tobacco smokers in particular should be targeted by stroke awareness campaigns, for example, through health warning labels on cigarette packs. People with some stroke risk factors, such as heart disease and obesity, are responsive to information about stroke. Therefore, educational campaigns should target the groups with increased risk of stroke.

Validation of Stroke Diagnosis in the National Registry of Hospitalized Patients in the Czech Republic
Stroke is a common cause of mortality and morbidity in Eastern Europe. However, detailed epidemiological data are not available. The National Registry of Hospitalized Patients (NRHOSP) is a nationwide registry of prospectively collected data regarding each hospitalization in the Czech Republic since 1998. As a first step in the evaluation of stroke epidemiology in the Czech Republic, we validated stroke cases in NRHOSP.

Endovascular treatment for acute ischemic stroke in patients with tandem lesion in the anterior circulation: analysis from the METRICS study
Conclusion Patients with TL did not differ from those with SO in outcomes after EVT. TL patients with prior IVT had more complete recanalization and mRS 0–2 and IVT was found to be a predictor of good outcome after EVT.

Incidence of Hospitalized Stroke in the Czech Republic: The National Registry of Hospitalized Patients
Contemporary stroke incidence data are not available in some countries and regions, including in Eastern Europe. Based on previous validation of the accuracy of the National Registry of Hospitalized Patients (NRHOSP), we report the incidence of hospitalized stroke in the Czech Republic (CR) using the NRHOSP.

Mechanical Thrombectomy Quality Indicators Study in Czech Stroke Centers: Results of the METRICS Study
Rigorous and regular evaluation of defined quality indicators is crucial for further improvement of both technical and clinical results after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Following the recent international multi-society consensus quality indicators, we aimed to assess trend in these indicators on national level.

Intravenous Thrombolysis in Posterior Circulation Stroke
Conclusions: Up to date, no data about PCIS and IVT are available from RTCs. Based on limited results from retrospective clinical studies and case series, IVT is safer for use in PCIS than in ACIS. Patients with brainstem ischemia, vertebral artery occlusion, and absence of basilar or posterior cerebral artery occlusion could be considered for treatment with IVT even in borderline cases. Time to IVT in PCIS seems to be a less crucial factor than in ACIS. IVT for PCIS may be beneficial even after 4.5 h from symptom onset. Predictive and individualized management of stroke —success story in Czech Republic
AbstractThe model of centralized stroke care in the Czech Republic was created in 2010 –2012 by Ministry of Health (MH) in cooperation with professional organization—Cerebrovascular Section of the Czech Neurological Society (CSCNS). It defines priorities of stroke care, stroke centers, triage of suspected stroke patients, stroke care quality indicators, their monitoring, and repor ting. Thirteen complex cerebrovascular centers (CCC) provide sophisticated stroke care, including intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), mechanical thrombectomy (MTE), as well as other endovascular (stenting, coiling) and neurosurgical procedures. T...

Incidence of Stroke and Ischemic Stroke Subtypes: A Community-Based Study in Brno, Czech Republic
Conclusions: The stroke incidence is lower than that previously reported for the CR and Eastern Europe probably reflecting socioeconomic changes in post-communistic countries in the region. These findings could contribute to stroke prevention strategies and influence health policies.Cerebrovasc Dis

General awareness of stroke in the Czech Republic
CONCLUSION: The Czech respondents' interest in stroke is significantly influenced by their sex, age, place of residence, marital status, and the respondents' education. The findings play a role in the focus on preventive activities in this area. It is necessary to implement the general public education not only in general practitioners' offices but also in mass media in order to improve the awareness of stroke.PMID:34623124 | DOI:10.21101/cejph.a6212
