Inappropriate Combined Antiplatelet and Anticoagulant Therapy in Older Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: Trend over Time (2009 –18)
ConclusionsWhile inappropriate combined antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy has declined over the last decade, there is still room for improvement. Antiplatelet deprescribing should be considered in all patients with inappropriate combined antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy, including those with vascular disease and no recent cardiovascular event.

ConclusionThese results illustrate areas in which we can improve education post-stroke, including ensuring patients receive individualised information about the aetiology of their stroke, risk factors and the importance of new medications. It also highlights the importance of ensuring advice regarding driving is clearly explained and documented.

122 Are We Effective Prescribers? A Retrospective Audit of DOAC Prescribing Post Embolic Stroke for Non Valvular Atrial Fibrillation
ConclusionA significant number of patients prescribed DOAC in hospital were not appropriately anticoagulated (21%), a majority of which were under-dosed. The patients who were under-dosed were older and more likely to be on 5 or more medications.

Electrocardiogram Changes as an Independent Predictive Factor of Mortality in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke; a Cohort Study.
Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, it seems that along with age and history of cardiac diseases, ECG changes can be considered as an independent predictive factor of mortality in patients with ischemic stroke.

88 One-year outcomes of triple therapy and adherence with ESC guidelines in patients with AF undergoing PCI in a teaching hospital
Background/Introduction: Oral anticoagulation is the corner-stone for stroke prevention in Atrial Fibrillation (AF).Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) the risk of bleeding increase due to concomitant prescription of antiplatelet agents. The 2016 European Society of Cardiology( ESC) guidelines for non valvular AF provide clear recommendations for triple therapy , Combination of two anti-platelet and oral anticoagulant in patients with underlying AF undergoing PCI, either electively or for acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The risk of such therapy is based on treatment duration and patient characteristics.

A Point ‐based Prediction Model for Cardiovascular Risk in Orthotopic Liver Transplantation: The CAR‐OLT Score
Conclusion: The point‐based CAR‐OLT risk score can identify patients at risk for CVD complications after OLT surgery (available at: www.carolt.us). Predictors of Direct Oral Anticoagulants Utilization for Thromboembolism Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation.
CONCLUSION: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first observational study finding that concomitant use of clopidogrel reduced the likelihood of DOAC utilization while prescription by a neurologist increased the probability of receiving a DOAC over warfarin in patients with AF.This article is open to POST-PUBLICATION REVIEW. Ischemic Stroke Outcomes in Oman: Experience of a University Hospital Based Stroke Registry (P6.278)
Conclusions:Ischemic stroke in Oman reflects the high morbidity/mortality seen in most communities in the region. Characteristics of incident stroke such as stroke recurrence, type, severity and cardiovascular comorbidity are likely the major determinants of stroke outcome. Comparison of Levosimendan versus Dobutamine in Patients with Moderate to Severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction Undergoing Off-pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: A Randomized Prospective Study.
CONCLUSIONS: Levosimendan was associated with statistically significant increase in indices of contractility (CI, LVSWI, and RVSWI) and decrease in PCWP during and after OPCAB. Levosimendan group had lower incidence of atrial fibrillation, shorter length of ICU, and hospital stay.

Conclusions: Acute ischemic stroke patients admitted in hospitals participating in a telestroke program had a more pronounced reduction in in-hospital mortality. However, telestroke coverage did not alter the effect of nighttime admission on in-hospital mortality.

Conclusions: RFA has a similar procedural safety in diabetics when compared to non-diabetic patients. It remains a safe procedure in diabetics with drug-refractory atrial fibrillation and flutter. Renal failure, CHF, type of Insurance, hospital location and teaching status are predictors of complications after RFA.
