Application and outcomes of therapy combining transcranial direct current stimulation and virtual reality: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: The use of tDCS combined with VR showed positive results in both healthy and impaired patients. Future studies with larger sample sizes and homogeneous participants are required to confirm the benefits of tDCS and VR. Implications for Rehabilitation tDCS with VR intervention can be an alternative to traditional rehabilitation programs. tDCS with VR is a promising type of intervention with a variety of positive effects. Practice patterns for spasticity management with phenol neurolysis.
CONCLUSION: Phenol neurolysis is currently used to reduce spasticity for various functional goals, including preventing contractures and improving gait. Depending on the pattern of spasticity displayed, numerous peripheral nerves in the upper and lower extremities can be targeted for treatment with phenol neurolysis. Further research into its role in spasticity management, including studies exploring its cost-effectiveness and pharmacological and side-effects compared with other treatment options are needed. Electrical Stimulation in the Treatment of Hemiplegic Shoulder Pain: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
Conclusions Electrical stimulation may be an effective pain management methodology for hemiplegic shoulders and may contribute to pain-free range of external rotation as well as activities of daily living recovery. However, these results should be interpreted with caution, given the low number of selected studies and risk of potential bias.

The effects of hemiplegic shoulder pain on upper extremity motor function and proprioception.
CONCLUSIONS: Presence of HSP is one of the main determinators of upper extremity motor function level and proprioceptive ability at different angles. Effect of kinesio taping on hemiplegic shoulder pain: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis suggests a beneficial effect of kinesio taping for reducing shoulder subluxation, improving motor function of the upper limb and activities of daily living in patients with hemiplegic shoulder pain post-intervention, which could not be interpreted simply as a placebo effect. Early diagnosis of heterotopic ossification among patients admitted to a neurological post intensive care rehabilitation unit.
CONCLUSIONS: HO is a sub-acute complication which develops in patients admitted to ICU for severe central nervous system disorders as clinical suspicion or radiological confirmation of diagnosis was made within the first week after admission in neurological PICRU (i.e. 6 to 8 weeks after ICU admission). CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: As treatment for HO may at least partially improves rehabilitation and quality of life, we recommend a systematic screening in PICRU patients for HO by clinical examination supplemented by imaging in case of suspicion. A systematic review on extracorporeal shock wave therapy and botulinum toxin for spasticity treatment: a comparison on efficacy
CONCLUSIONS: A beneficial effect on spasticity was found for both treatments: evidence showed that ESWT and BoNT-A can ameliorate spasticity considering parameters such as MAS, MTS, AROM, PROM, UE-FMA, VAS and SFS in post-stroke, multiple sclerosis, and cerebral palsy patients.
