Effect of social support and health education on depression scale scores of chronic stroke patients
The objective of this study was to explore the effect of social support on depression in chronic stroke patients and the relationship between demographic and disease characteristics. Total samples were randomly divided into an intervention group (nā€Š=ā€Š31) and a control group (nā€Š=ā€Š31). Sixteen social support interventions were performed over 8 weeks. Social support programs were implemented 2 times a week. Rehabilitation of the upper arm early after stroke: video games versus conventional rehabilitation. A randomized controlled trial
Conclusion. In general, we cannot conclude that video gaming and conventional OT led to different long-term sensorimotor recovery of the UL after sub-acute stroke. However, when applied within the first month after stroke, video gaming was more efficient than conventional rehabilitation on both sensorimotor recovery and gross grasping function.Trial registration. Bilateral vertebral artery dissection complicated by posterior circulation stroke in a young man: A case report
Conclusion: VAD should be taken into consideration in differential diagnosis of posterior circulation stroke or transient ischemic attack in young patients. Intravenous thrombolytic therapy may be safe and effective for stroke-complicated cases. This case report demonstrates that expanded diagnostic protocol for acute ischemic stroke assures rapid and correct diagnosis.

This study explores the effect of slow-stroke back massages on anxiety and shoulder pain in hospitalized elderly patients with stroke. An experimental quantitative design was conducted, comparing the scores for self-reported pain, anxiety, blood pressure, heart rate and pain of two groups of patients before and immediately after, and three days after the intervention.
