Vegetarians have 'poorer quality of life' study claims
Conclusion
Despite the media headlines, the results from this Austrian cross sectional survey provide no proof that vegetarians are in poorer health than meat eaters.
The study has simply compared a group of people with a “vegetarian” diet with three different groups of people following “carnivorous” diets on a range of different health and lifestyle measures to see if any differences are observed.

There are always more deaths in winter than other seasons, particularly among elderly people. But why these fairly dramatic spikes in the death rate have occurred is still not understood.

Pneumonia in the Noninstitutionalized Older Population.
CONCLUSION: Pneumonia plays an important role in the medical care of non-institutionalized older people. With the aid of the predictors identified in this study, primary care physicians can identify patients at risk, smokers can gain additional motivation to quit, treatment compliance can be increased, and patients may become more willing to be vaccinated as recommended in the current guidelines.
