Impact of mechanical circulatory support on post-transplant stroke risk
This study assesses if the type of circulatory support device affects stroke risk in this population. The study cohort of 4257 adult patients bridged with mechanical support to cardiac transplant were derived from the UNOS transplant registry data. Risk factors assessed were age, gender, ischemic time, diabetes (recipient), durable mechanical support at listing and mechanical ventilation pre-transplant. Neurological complications in renal transplant patients: A single-center experience
Conclusion We conclude that complications involving the neurological system occur in 10.5% of all transplant patients with 8% involving CNS and 7% involving the PNS. The high mortality rates associated with CNS complications warrant early diagnosis and aggressive treatment in renal transplant recipients.

Evidence of safety and efficacy of two forms of neonatal cell transplants
Conclusions:  Xenotransplantation of microencapsulated islets and other cell types into human and non‐human primates from a biocertified herd of pigs prepared under GMP conditions can be conducted with safety and efficacy. Further improvements in clinical outcomes are expected with technical advances.
