Common genetic variants on chromosome 9p21 confers risk of ischemic stroke: A large-scale genetic association study
The objective of this experiment was to observe the allele frequency and genotype distribution of some 9p21 SNPs in the Anhui Han population, and to study its relationship with the susceptibility to ischemic stroke. For this purpose, a collection of 992 patients with ischemic stroke confirmed and hospitalized in our hospital from October 2017 to October 2020 were used as the IS case group, and 951 normal people who had a healthy physical examination in the physical examination center of our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. After informed consent, cubital venous blood of all subjects was c...

Identification of Risk Factors for Stroke in China: A Meta-Analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies
This study aimed to identify independent risk factors for first occurrence of stroke in Chinese individuals based on prospective cohort studies. Forty prospective cohort studies assessing 1,984,552 individuals were selected for the final meta-analysis. The identified risk factors for stroke in the Chinese population included old age (RR = 1.86, 95%CI: 1.47–2.36), hypertension (RR = 2.76, 95%CI: 2.26–3.37), cardiovascular disease history (RR = 1.98, 95%CI: 1.06–3.69), chronic kidney disease (RR = 1.65, 95%CI: 1.36–2.01), diabetes mellitus (RR = 1.71, 95%CI: 1.34–2.18), metabolic syndrome (RR = 1.59, 95%CI: 1.33–...

Prevalence and In-hospital outcomes of diabetes among acute ischemic stroke patients in china: results from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance
ConclusionDiabetes was highly prevalent among AIS patients in China and associated with worse in-hospital outcomes. Greater efforts to increase targeted approach to secondary prevention treatments of diabetes in AIS patients are warranted.

Association between stress hyperglycemia and outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion
CONCLUSION: Stress hyperglycemia ratio, as measured by the glucose/HbA1C, was associated with a decreased odds of achieving a favorable functional outcome in patients with acute large vessel occlusion stroke at 90 days.PMID:36914967 | DOI:10.1111/cns.14163

Clinical risk factors associated with recurrence of ischemic stroke within two years: A cohort study
To identify the clinical risk factors and investigate the efficacy of a classification model based on the identified factors for predicting 2-year recurrence after ischemic stroke. From June 2017 to January 2019, 358 patients with first-ever ischemic stroke were enrolled and followed up in Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. Demographic and clinical characteristics were recorded by trained medical staff. The outcome was defined as recurrence within 2 years. A multivariate logistic regression model with risk factors and their interaction effects was established and evaluated. The mean (standard deviation) age ...
