Patients’ time in therapeutic range on warfarin among US patients with atrial fibrillation: Results from ORBIT-AF registry
Conclusions Among patients with AF in US clinical practices, TTR on warfarin is suboptimal, and those at highest predicted risks for stroke and bleeding were least likely to be in therapeutic range.

Transcatheter Treatment of Severe Tricuspid Regurgitation with the Edge-to-Edge: MitraClip Technique.
Conclusions -Transcatheter treatment of TR with the MitraClip system seems to be safe and feasible in this cohort of preselected patients. Cardiovascular events and hospital resource utilization pre – and post–transcatheter mitral valve repair in high–surgical risk patients
Conclusions MitraClip was associated with a reduced rate of all-cause and HF hospitalizations and an increased rate of bleeding hospitalizations. One-year Medicare costs were reduced in those who survived a full year after the MitraClip procedure. Payors and providers seeking to reduce HF hospitalizations and associated Medicare costs may consider MitraClip among appropriate patients likely to survive 1 year.

Infective endocarditis without biological inflammatory syndrome: Description of a particular entity.
CONCLUSIONS: Left-sided valvular IE with limited or no biological syndrome is rare, but is often associated with severe valvular and paravalvular lesions. TOE should be performed in presence of unexplained heart failure, new valvular regurgitation or cardioembolic stroke when TTE is insufficient to rule out endocarditis, even in patients with a low CRP concentration. Valve-in-valve transcatheter aortic valve implantation after failed surgically implanted aortic bioprosthesis versus native transcatheter aortic valve implantation for aortic stenosis: Data from a nationwide analysis.

Novel oral anticoagulant vs. warfarin in elderly atrial fibrillation patients with normal, mid ‐range, and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction
ConclusionsIn elderly AF patients ≥65 years, using NOAC was associated with lower IS/SE compared with warfarin in normal and mid‐range LVEF but not in reduced LVEF. Using NOACs was associated with lower death compared with warfarin in normal LVEF.

Long ‐term clinical and haemodynamic results after transcatheter annuloplasty for secondary mitral regurgitation
ConclusionsAmong high ‐risk patients undergoing transcatheter mitral valve annuloplasty for symptomatic secondary MR, mortality was ~50% at 4 years. In the surviving patients, reduced MR severity was associated with reduced NYHA functional class, reverse LV remodelling, and improved LV function.

Early surgical intervention versus conservative management of asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions This study suggests that for patients with asymptomatic severe AS an early surgical intervention compared with a conservative WW strategy was associated with a lower heart failure hospitalisation and a similar rate of stroke or myocardial infarction, although with significant risk of bias.
