Stroke and COVID19: not only a large-vessel disease
Recent evidence has underlined the association between large-vessel stroke and COVID-19, probably due to a proinflammatory and prothrombotic microenvironment induced by SARS-CoV-2. Here, we report the case of a young fit woman affected by COVID-19 without any flu-like symptom, who suffered from speech disorder and left hemiparesis. Brain magnetic resonance evidenced two small acute brain infarctions in right perirolandic cortex without signs of previous ischemic lesions and hemorrhagic infarction.

Universal laboratory testing for SARS-CoV-2 in hyperacute stroke during the COVID-19 pandemic
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic necessitates organizational and structural adjustments to local health care systems to protect medical professionals and patients from infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) (1). Particularly older individuals and those with cardiovascular comorbidities are thought to be at increased risk of COVID-19 (2). Consequently, stroke patients can be considered an at-risk population and might benefit from infection control screens at hospital entry (3,4).

Code Stroke patient referral by Emergency Medical Services during the public COVID-19 pandemic lockdown
During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic the use of health care systems changed suddenly. Hospitals were overwhelmed as a result of the staggering COVID-19 patient numbers1 and/or modified their daily routine due to prophylactic allocation of resources.2 Public lockdowns with strict containment recommendations for the community have been announced around the world.3 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and dispatch centers were confronted with increasing numbers of patients/calls and reorganization of the dispatch system including Code Stroke patient referral.

Time of stroke onset in Coronavirus disease 2019 patients around the globe: a systematic review and analysis.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rapidly became a pandemic. As of August 29th, 2020, over 24 million cases have been confirmed worldwide1. Severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is associated with diverse neurological manifestations involving both the central and peripheral nervous system2,3. In fact, reports of ischemic stroke in patients with COVID-19 have increasingly been published, suggesting an association between these conditions. It has been proposed that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces a severe inflammatory response and hypercoagulable state, making patients susceptible to thromboti...

Unusual Pattern of Arterial Macrothrombosis Causing Stroke in a Young Adult Recovered from COVID-19
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to grow all over the world. Neurological manifestations related to COVID-19, including acute ischemic Stroke (AIS), have been reported in recent studies. In most of these, the patients are older, have multiple co-morbidities as risk factors for AIS and have developed a severe respiratory illness. Herein, we report a 36-year-old man with no significant past medical history who recently recovered from a mild COVID-19 infection and presented with unusual pattern of arterial macrothrombosis causing AIS.

Characteristics and Comparison of 32 COVID-19 and Non-COVID-19 Ischemic Strokes and historical stroke patients.
: The presence of COVID-19 infection may increase the risk of thrombotic events including ischemic strokes. Whilst a number of recent reports suggest that COVID-19 associated stroke tends to be severe, there is limited data on the effects of COVID-19 in prospective registries.

Commentary: Remote assessments of gait and balance - Implications for research during and beyond Covid-19.
We present assessments that do not require complex or costly equipment, specialized software, or trained personnel to administer. We provide recommendations to implement remote functional assessments for participant recruitment and continuation of lower limb neurorehabilitation research as a rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic and for utilization beyond the current pandemic. We also highlight critical research gaps related to feasibility and measurement characteristics of remote lower limb assessments, providing opportunities for future research to advance tele-assessment and tele-rehabilitation. Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) related acute stroke causing Transient Global Amnesia
Transient global amnesia (TGA) presents as an acute anterograde amnesia that generally resolves within 24 hrs.1 Werner et al. had noted increasing TGA since severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak in their hospital in Germany and reported 16 patients with TGA between February 1st and May 15th 2020 compared to their 10-year average of 9.72 In our series we noted 2 patients who presented with TGA secondary to acute hippocampal stroke in COVID-19 positive patients.

COVID-19 Lockdown Effects on Acute Stroke Care in Latin America
The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has sparked an unprecedented international public health crisis. It has prompted numerous countries to implement lockdowns to mitigate the spread of the virus and to reduce the burden on health systems.1 The decrease in the use of health institutions for non-COVID medical conditions and mobility restrictions due to social isolation measures had a potential impact on the care of several non-communicable diseases, including stroke.2 –6
