Angiography-based hemodynamic features predict recurrent ischemic events after angioplasty and stenting of intracranial vertebrobasilar atherosclerotic stenosis
ConclusionsIn patients with intracranial vertebrobasilar atherosclerosis treated with PTAS, preprocedural prolonged TTP of the target vessel and shortened trans-stenotic TTP difference were associated with stroke relapse. Q-DSA-defined hemodynamic parameters provided incremental predictive value over conventional parameters for stroke recurrence.Clinical relevance statementQuantitative DSA analysis enables intuitive observation and semi-quantitative evaluation of peri-therapeutic cerebral blood flow. More importantly, quantitative DSA –defined hemodynamic parameters have the potential for risk stratification of patients ...

Short Versus Long Duration of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy After Second-Generation Drug-Eluting Stents Implantation in Patients with Diabetes
CONCLUSION: This meta-analysis showed no statistically significant benefit of longer DAPT over shorter DAPT therapy in patients undergoing PCI with drug-eluting stent in patients with diabetes.PMID:37713685 | DOI:10.1097/MJT.0000000000001519

Aircraft noise exposure and risk for recurrent cardiovascular events after acute coronary syndrome: A prospective patient cohort study
Environ Res. 2023 Sep 8:117108. doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2023.117108. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn several population based cohort studies associations between aircraft noise and various diagnoses of cardiovascular disease were observed. However, no study has yet addressed the risk of recurrences in relation to transportation noise in patients with acute coronary heart disease. We conducted a prospective patient cohort study of 737 individuals recruited from eleven cardiac centers in the Rhine-Main region in the vicinity of Frankfurt Airport. All patients had an angiographically confirmed acute coronary syndrome diagnosed...

Treatment of In-stent Restenosis of the Internal Carotid Artery Using Drug-eluting Balloons
ConclusionThe use of DEB angioplasty is a  safe and effective treatment of ICA ISR lesions, yielding significantly better results compared to other modalities. Randomized multicenter studies are warranted.

Effects of Compound Danshen Dripping Pills on Ventricular Remodeling and Cardiac Function after Acute Anterior Wall ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (CODE-AAMI): Protocol for a Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial
This study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CDDP in improving ventricular remodeling and cardiac function after AAMI on a larger scale.MethodsThis study is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial. The total of 268 patients with AAMI after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) will be randomly assigned 1:1 to the CDDP group (n=134) and control group (n=134) with a follow-up of 48 weeks. Both groups will be treated with standard therapy of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), with the CDDP group administrating 20 tablets of CDDP ...

Fractional Flow Reserve-Guided PCI or Coronary Bypass Surgery for 3-Vessel Coronary Artery Disease: 3-Year Follow-Up of the FAME 3 Trial
CONCLUSIONS: At 3-year follow-up, there was no difference in the incidence of the composite of death, MI, or stroke after FFR-guided PCI with current-generation drug-eluting stents compared with CABG. There was a higher incidence of MI after PCI compared with CABG, with no difference in death or stroke. These results provide contemporary data to allow improved shared decision-making between physicians and patients with 3-vessel coronary artery disease.REGISTRATION: URL: https://www.CLINICALTRIALS: gov; Unique identifier: NCT02100722.PMID:37602376 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.123.065770

P114/135 Drug-coated balloons for treatment of in-stent restenosis following carotid artery stenting: a major case, single center study
ConclusionIn our practice, DCB offers a straightforward option to treat restenosis of the ACI ostium. The low rate of periprocedural complications and the median time of freedom from symptoms and/or restenosis suggest that DCB angioplasty for ISRS is a viable treatment.Disclosure of InterestNothing to disclose

O06/60 Diagnosis of intracranial atherosclerosis related large vessel occlusion before endovascular treatment
ConclusionA combination of clinical and radiological variables available before EVT can accurately predict the presence of an ICAD-LVO. The ICAD-Scale could be useful to perform a rapid assessment of underlying etiology and suggest specific pathophysiology-based measures (adjunctive pharmacological treatment, angioplasty and/or intracranial stenting).Disclosure of InterestDr Molina reported receiving personal fees from AstraZeneca for consultant services outside the submitted work.
