The butterfly effect: improving brain cone-beam CT image artifacts for stroke assessment using a novel dual-axis trajectory
Conclusions Recent developments in CBCT imaging protocols have significantly improved image artifacts, which has improved diagnostic confidence for stroke and supports a direct-to-angiography suite transfer approach for patients with acute ischemic stroke.

Bilateral ankle deformities affects gait kinematics in chronic stroke patients
ConclusionUsing 3D scanning technology, bilateral morphometric changes in the feet of chronic stroke patients were shown by GMM and the simple anthropometric measurements identified its shape deformities in the feet. Their possible effects on gait kinematics while walking on uneven terrains were investigated. Current methodology can be potentially useful in applying conventional productions of clinically manufactured, patient-fitted ankle-foot-orthosis in orthotics and prosthetics, and in detecting various unidentified pathological deformities in the feet.

Sensors, Vol. 23, Pages 1900: Multi Modal Feature Extraction for Classification of Vascular Dementia in Post-Stroke Patients Based on EEG Signal
This study used 19 EEG channels recorded from normal elderly, post-stroke with mild cognitive impairment, and post-stroke with dementia. The QEEG method used for feature extraction includes relative power, coherence, and signal complexity; the evaluation performance of normal-mild cognitive impairment-dementia classification was conducted using Support Vector Machine and K-Nearest Neighbor. The results of the classification simulation showed the highest accuracy of 96% by Gaussian SVM with a sensitivity and specificity of 95.6% and 97.9%, respectively. Adult offspring and their socioeconomic resources for development and survival of stroke: A Swedish and Danish nationwide register-based study
CONCLUSIONS: Adult offspring socioeconomic resources are, independently of how we measure them and of individual socioeconomic characteristics, associated with development of stroke in old age in both Denmark and Sweden. CONCLUSION AND SIGNIFICANCE: The results highlight the importance of addressing return to work not just as an isolated outcome but as part of everyday life after stroke.
