Effect of omega-3 fatty acids on cardiovascular events in high-risk patients with hypertriglyceridemia in Japan: a 3-year post-marketing surveillance study (OCEAN3 survey)
CONCLUSIONS: Among patients receiving statins, cardiovascular event incidence did not differ significantly between O3AEE-treated patients and non-O3AEE-treated patients. Oily fish is a major dietary source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients that may reduce the expression of cerebral small vessel disease (cSVD) biomarkers, including white matter hyperintensities (WMH) of presumed vascular origin. However, information on this relationship is limited. We aimed to assess the association between oily fish intake and WMH severity in a population of frequent fish consumers.

Fish consumption, long-chain omega-3 fatty acids intake and risk of stroke: An updated systematic review and meta-analysis
