Exploring the bi-directional relationship and shared genes between depression and stroke via NHANES and bioinformatic analysis
Conclusion: We successfully identified the ten hub shared genes linking the IS and MDD and constructed the regulatory networks for them that could serve as novel targeted therapy for the comorbidities.

Study protocol of a telephone problem-solving intervention for Spanish-speaking caregivers of veterans post-stroke: an 8-session investigator-blinded, two-arm parallel (intervention vs usual care), randomized clinical trial
This study tests the impact of a telephone and online problem-solving intervention for Spanish-speaking stroke caregivers on caregiver outcomes.METHODS: The design is a two-arm parallel randomized clinical trial with repeated measures. We will enroll 290 caregivers from 3 Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers. Preface
A stroke can happen to anyone at any time. Every year, nearly 800,000 Americans suffer a stroke. Despite improvements in stroke treatment in the United States, stroke remains the second leading cause of death worldwide. Stroke is also the third-leading cause of death and disability combined. Worldwide, the annual rate of stroke is 15 million. Of these, 3 million die and another 3 million are left permanently disabled. Stroke occurs every 40 seconds. Rapid and effective evaluation, identification, diagnosis, and treatment of stroke are vital in decreasing stroke morbidity and mortality.

Does bariatric surgery change the risk of acute ischemic stroke in patients with a history of transient ischemic attack? A nationwide analysis
CONCLUSIONS: After analyzing nationwide information, we conclude bariatric surgery helps decrease risk of AIS in patients with a history of TIA.
