Cardiovascular events in cancer patients with bone metastases —A Danish population‐based cohort study of 23,113 patients
ConclusionCancer patients with bone metastases had a substantial risk of developing cardiovascular events, and these events were associated with a subsequent increased mortality. Our findings underscore the importance of continuous optimized prevention of and care for cardiovascular disease among cancer patients with bone metastases.

Causal inference and evidence-based recommendations in occupational health and safety research
In this issue of the Journal, a group of distinguished Nordic researchers, led by Anne Helene Garde and including four of our Associated Editors, present a discussion paper that originated from a workshop and provides detailed recommendations on night shift work (1). The recommendations are very clear: to protect workers ’ health, night shift schedules should have: (i) ≤3 consecutive night shifts; (ii) shift intervals of ≥11 hours; and (iii) ≤9 hours shift duration. Pattern of mortality after menopausal hormone therapy: long-term follow-up in a population based cohort.
CONCLUSIONS: In this long-term follow-up study, taking hormones during menopause was not associated with overall mortality among middle-aged women. Investigating cause-specific mortality revealed significant albeit weak associations differential according to both causes of death and over time underlining the importance of carefully considering individual risks and duration of treatment when making decisions on hormone therapy. Predictors of the effectiveness of accreditation on hospital performance: A nationwide stepped-wedge study
ConclusionHospital characteristics were not found to be predictors for the effects of accreditation, whereas conditions and types of care to some extent predicted the effectiveness.
