Mechanism of Sanhua Decoction in the Treatment of Ischemic Stroke Based on Network Pharmacology Methods and Experimental Verification
CONCLUSION: The effective components of SHD may regulate multiple signaling pathways through IL-6, APP, AKT1, and VEGFA to reduce brain damage and inflammatory damage and exert a neuroprotective role in the treatment of IS diseases. Thus, this study provides a feasible method to study the pharmacological mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine compound prescriptions and a theoretical basis for the development of SHD into a new drug for IS treatment.PMID:35097126 | PMC:PMC8799339 | DOI:10.1155/2022/7759402

The Effect of Applying Robot-Assisted Task-Oriented Training Using Human-Robot Collaborative Interaction Force Control Technology on Upper Limb Function in Stroke Patients: Preliminary Findings
Biomed Res Int. 2021 Jul 28;2021:9916492. doi: 10.1155/2021/9916492. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTStroke is one of the leading causes of death and the primary cause of acquired disability worldwide. Many stroke survivors have difficulty using their upper limbs, which have important functional roles in the performance of daily life activities. Consequently, the independence and quality of life of most stroke patients are reduced. Robot-assisted therapy is an effective intervention for improving the upper limb function of individuals with stroke. Human-robot collaborative interaction force control technology is critical for impr...

Relationship of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio with Carotid Plaque Vulnerability and Occurrence of Vulnerable Carotid Plaque in Patients with Acute Ischemic Stroke
CONCLUSION: The admission NLR is a novel and meaningful biomarker that can be used in predicting carotid plaque vulnerability and the presence of vulnerable carotid plaque assessed by carotid ultrasonography in patients with AIS among Chinese.PMID:34250090 | PMC:PMC8238559 | DOI:10.1155/2021/6894623

Xiaoxuming Decoction Regulates Vascular Function by Modulating G Protein-Coupled Receptors: A Molecular Docking Study
In this study, XXMD was found to induce relaxation of the basilar artery rings of rats precontracted by 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in vitro, in a dose-dependent manner. The modulation of vascular tone and the process of cerebral ischemia are mediated via the interactions between G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their ligands, including 5-HT, angiotensin II (Ang II), and urotensin II (UII). Thus, the potential synergistic effects of the different components of XXMD on the regulation of vasoconstriction and vasodilation were further investigated by molecular docking based on network pharmacology. We constructed and an...

Genetic Variants of < em > lncRNA GAS5 < /em > Contribute to Susceptibility of Ischemic Stroke among Southern Chinese Population
This study genotyped the two GAS5 variants in 1086 IS patients as well as 1045 age-matched healthy controls by using an improved multitemperature ligase detection reaction (iMLDR-TM) genotyping technology. We observed a considerable change in the frequencies of the rs145204276 allele and genotype among the IS patients and healthy control group. The del-T haplotype was substantially more prevalent in the IS cases compared to the control individuals. When study participants were stratified according to environmental factors, we found that the rs145204276 del allele was correlated with a higher risk of IS in male, smokers, hy...

Patients with acute myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation: association of anemia with risk of in-hospital bleeding, stroke and other death causes.
Conclusions: In the Chinese in-hospital AMI and AF cohort, anemia was shown to be associated with increased risk of any bleeding, minor bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding and other death causes, but not the risk of stroke or/and SE. Trial Registration Not applicable. PMID: 33411568 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Hypertension Among Hemorrhagic Stroke Patients in Northeast China: A Population-Based Study 2017-2019.
CONCLUSIONS The high prevalence of uncontrolled hypertension and high rates of blood pressure at stages 2 and 3 in patients with prior hemorrhagic stroke indicated a considerable stroke burden in northeast China. Therefore, effective and long-time management of hypertension in stroke survivors should be a priority. PMID: 33376232 [PubMed - in process]

Correlation Between Speech Repetition Function and the Arcuate Fasciculus in the Dominant Hemisphere Detected by Diffusion Tensor Imaging Tractography in Stroke Patients with Aphasia.
CONCLUSIONS We found that unintegrated left arcuate fasciculus might be related to the repetition dysfunction after stroke, especially sentence repetition deficit, which suggests that sentence repetition evaluation could be used to indicate the integrity of the arcuate fasciculus in the dominant hemisphere after stroke.
