Effects of a Province-wide Triaging System for TIA: The ASPIRE Intervention
CONCLUSIONS: The ASPIRE TIA triaging and management interventions did not further reduce stroke recurrence in the context of an organized stroke system. The apparent lower mortality post intervention may be related to improved surveillance following events identified as TIAs but secular trends cannot be excluded.PMID:36977597 | DOI:10.1212/WNL.0000000000207201

Androgen Deprivation Therapy and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in Patients With Prostate Cancer Based on Existence of Cardiovascular Risk
CONCLUSIONS: Compared with GnRH agonists, the GnRH antagonist was found to be associated with a decreased risk of HF, specifically among patients with prior CVD. Among those with no prior CVD, the GnRH antagonist was associated with a decreased risk of IHD but an increased risk of arrhythmia.PMID:36791755 | DOI:10.6004/jnccn.2022.7083

Association of body mass index with COVID-19-related neurologic sequelae: a retrospective cohort study
This study demonstrates the absence of an association between BMI and neurologic manifestations following acute COVID-19 illness. Prospective studies using standardized data collection tools and direct measures of body fat are warranted to obtain more valid effect estimates.

Estimated pulse-wave velocity predicts survival in patients requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
CONCLUSIONS: ePWV is a promising marker for risk-stratification in ECMO patients. Further investigation is required to better delineate the role of arterial health assessment in disease trajectory and strengthen the validity of AS as a marker of interest in medical and surgical management.PMID:36419384 | DOI:10.1177/02676591221141963
