Relation of MRI Aortic Wall Area and Plaque to Incident Cardiovascular Events: The Framingham Heart Study
Conclusion In middle-aged community-dwelling adults, thoracic aortic wall area (AWA), plaque prevalence, and plaque volumes measured with MRI were independently associated with incident cardiovascular disease, with AWA associated in particular with stroke, and plaque associated with coronary heart disease. Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. AbstractDes-aspartate-angiotensin I (DAA-I) is an endogenous angiotensin peptide and a prototype angiotensin receptor agonist (ARA). It acts on the angiotensin AT1 receptor and antagonises the deleterious actions of angiotensin II. DAA-I attenuates animal models of human disease in which angiotensin II has been implicated, such as cardiac hypertrophy, neointima formation, arteriosclerosis, renal failure, post-infarction injuries, diabetes, viral infection, chemical-induced inflammation, heat stroke, cancer, and gamma radiation lethality.
