E-135 Dejerine-roussy syndrome in the setting of right sigmoid sinus thrombosis: a unique case report
DiscussionThis case illustrates the important clinical aspects and physical findings needed to diagnose DRS. The presence of focal allodynia and hyperalgesia with recent cerebrovascular incidents provides significant evidence for DRS. The purpose of this case is to provide awareness and to increase clinical suspicion of DRS during examination, especially in the setting of cerebral venous sinus occlusion as infarction alone may not present as atypical allodynia.Disclosures S. Imaging features of vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia combined with posterior circulation ischemic stroke: A vessel wall magnetic resonance imaging study
CONCLUSIONS: This preliminary study suggests that atherosclerosis may be an important cause of stroke in VBD patients. Symptomatic plaques in VBD patients have a lower degree of stenosis, NWI, and RI than that in non-VBD patients. VW-MRI may help to assess stroke mechanisms and identify VBD patients at high risk.PMID:37506476 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejrad.2023.110971

Survey on APS diagnosis and antithrombotic treatment in patients with ischaemic stroke, other brain ischaemic injury or arterial thromboembolism in other sites: Communication from ISTH SSC Subcommittee on Lupus Anticoagulant/Antiphospholipid Antibodies (LA/aPL)
CONCLUSIONS: Much of the variation in practice reflects the lack of evidence-based recommendations. The survey results should inform the development of a more uniform multidisciplinary consensus approach to diagnosis and antithrombotic treatment.PMID:37391096 | DOI:10.1016/j.jtha.2023.06.020

JAK2 V617F Mutation and Large Cerebral Artery Disease in Patients with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed a significant association between the JAK2 V617F mutation and LCAD in patients with MPNs. This suggests that the JAK2 V617F mutation may promote cerebrovascular atherosclerosis and could be very important in determining therapeutic strategies for patients with not only JAK2 V617F-mutated MPNs but also LCAD-related stroke.PMID:37344447 | DOI:10.5551/jat.64118

Association between Urine Albumin-to-creatinine Ratio and Intracranial Atherosclerotic Plaque in Chinese Adults - Results from the PRECISE Study
CONCLUSIONS: Among a low-risk community-dwelling population without prior stroke or CHD in China, ACR was independently associated with intracranial plaque presence and plaque burden measured by vessel wall MRI.PMID:37197951 | DOI:10.5551/jat.64156
