A rare cause of abdominal pain managed unconventionally: acute renal infarction caused by atrial fibrillation: a case report
ConclusionsAcute renal infarction from thromboembolism is a rare but serious complication of arterial fibrillation. More efficient and different options for intervention methods will benefit the treatment of this disease. Here, we report a combination therapeutic method that has not been used in acute renal infarction associated with arterial fibrillation, and which restored renal perfusion and prevented long-term kidney injury.

E-114 Rescue suction mechanical thrombectomy of medium-small vessel occlusion in a pediatric patient presented with acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionEndovascular aspiration mechanical thrombectomy of MSVO is feasible in pediatric patients presenting with AIS and associated with good functional outcome. Additionally, when acute ongoing neurological deficit is present and CTA is inconclusive, a digital subtraction angiography is deemed needed to identify MSVO as the yields of CTA diminishes significantly beyond LVO. Warfarin Treatment Is Associated to Increased Internal Carotid Artery Calcification
Conclusions: Long-lasting warfarin anticoagulation associated with increased calcification of carotid atherosclerotic plaques, particularly in locations known to be the predilection sites of stroke-causing plaques. The clinical significance of this novel finding warrants further investigations.

A Case of Ischemic Stroke With Congenital Protein C Deficiency and Carotid Web Successfully Treated by Anticoagulant and Carotid Stenting
Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first report in which an immediate thrombus formation on the carotid web was observed in a patient with congenital protein C deficiency. In a case of acute ischemic stroke with carotid web, especially when congenital coagulopathy such as protein C deficiency is suspected, careful follow-up with ultrasound imaging should be performed.

Aortic Sarcoma Mimicking a Thrombus Filling Vascular Lumen: A Rare Cause of Cerebral Infarction (P4.364)
Conclusion- Primary aortic sarcoma is an extremely rare cause of stroke. This sarcoma may be misinterpreted as a thrombus filling vascular lumen on CT angiography, but no elevation of D-dimer is incompatible with a large thrombus. Arrive: A retrospective registry of Indian patients with venous thromboembolism
Conclusion: Acute DVT alone was responsible for the substantial burden of VTE in Indian patients. Bleeding was not the limiting factor for anticoagulant treatment in most patients.

Acute myocardial infarction after switching from warfarin to dabigatran.
We present a case of an acute MI and cardiac arrest in a patient with chronic AF who had been recently switched from warfarin to dabigatran. Urgent coronary angiography, at St. Michael's hospital (Toronto, Canada), revealed evidence of thromboembolism to the distal posterior descending artery. The patient was treated medically and switched back from dabigatran to warfarin. He did well and was discharged after an uneventful stay in the coronary care unit. PMID: 25830002 [PubMed]

Cardiac CT angiography for device surveillance after endovascular left atrial appendage closure
Conclusion CCTA appears to be a feasible alternative to transoesophageal echocardiography for post-LAA device surveillance to evaluate for device thrombus, residual leak, embolization, position, and pericardial effusion.

Amyloid Beta Related Angiitis in the Setting of Anticoagulation (P2.256)

Oral direct thrombin inhibitor as an alternative in the management of cerebral venous thrombosis: a series of 15 patients
ConclusionsWe report the largest series of cerebral vein thrombosis patients treated with dabigatran. Clinical outcome was excellent in most patients and not different from other studies. Dabigatran could possibly be considered an alternative to warfarin; nevertheless, further prospective assessment with randomized controlled studies is warranted.
