Incidence rate of stroke in Peru
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of stroke is high in Peru. Ischemic cases are the most frequent and they disproportionately affect men. Low-molecular-weight heparins or heparinoids versus standard unfractionated heparin for acute ischaemic stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Treatment with a LMWH or heparinoid after acute ischaemic stroke appears to decrease the occurrence of DVT compared with standard UFH, but there are too few data to provide reliable information on their effects on other important outcomes, including functional outcome, death and intracranial haemorrhage. Impact of anemia on in ‐hospital complications after ischemic stroke
ConclusionAnemia is an independent predictor of in‐hospital complications following stroke, especially for pneumonia, GIB and thromboembolism. Paradoxical effect of obesity on hemorrhagic transformation after acute ischemic stroke
Conclusions: The better outcome for HTf seen in obese patients suggests the existence of a “bleeding-obesity paradox” in acute ischemic stroke.

Antithrombotic treatment after stroke due to intracerebral haemorrhage
CONCLUSIONS: We did not identify beneficial or hazardous effects of short-term prophylactic dose parenteral anticoagulation and long-term oral antiplatelet therapy after ICH on important outcomes. Although there was a significant reduction in MACE and all major occlusive vascular events after long-term treatment with therapeutic dose oral anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation after ICH, the pooled estimates were imprecise, the certainty of evidence was only moderate, and effects on other important outcomes were uncertain. Metastatic undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma causing intraoperative stroke.
We report a case of a dedifferentiated liposarcoma that metastasized to the lung within one year. The histologic morphology of the metastasis was more aggressive than the primary lesion, and was consistent with a pleomorphic undifferentiated sarcoma. Following surgical resection of the metastatic pulmonary lesion, the patient never fully regained consciousness. He expired the day following his surgery.
