ConclusionsIn Chinese AF patients, the benefits of warfarin therapy for stroke prevention and ICH reduction depend on TTR. Of the treatments compared, dabigatran, as well as rivaroxaban 20 mg daily, was associated with lowest ischemic stroke and ICH rates.

Direct oral anticoagulants: unique properties and practical approaches to management
Since 2009, four direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) have been introduced for treatment of venous thromboembolism and stroke prevention in non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Direct Oral Anticoagulants in Emergency Trauma Admissions.

Systematic review and network meta-analysis of stroke prevention treatments in patients with atrial fibrillation.
CONCLUSION: All oral anticoagulants reduce the risk of stroke in AF patients. Some novel oral anticoagulants are associated with a lower stroke and/or major bleeding risk than warfarin. In addition to the safety and effectiveness of drug therapy, as reported in this study, individual treatment recommendations should also consider the patient's underlying stroke and bleeding risk profile. Novel oral anticoagulants for the secondary prevention of cerebral ischemia: a network meta-analysis
Conclusions: The three NOACs showed differences in terms of safety and efficacy for secondary stroke prevention in NVAF. Our findings can serve only as hypothesis generation and require independent confirmation in head-to-head RCTs, owing to the sparse available evidence and increased uncertainty in both indirect effect estimates and ranking of treatments.

Vitamin K and non-vitamin K antagonists oral anticoagulants for non-valvular atrial fibrillation in real-life.

Long-term evaluation of dabigatran 150 vs. 110 mg twice a day in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation
Conclusion Annualized rates of all outcomes were constant with better efficacy of D150, less major bleeding with D110, and low intracerebral haemorrhage rates for both doses. There were no additional safety concerns. This is the longest continuous randomized experience of a novel anticoagulant.

Intravenous Thrombolysis after Reversal of Dabigatran by Idarucizumab: A Case Report
We describe a 75-year-old female patient with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation who presented with acute ischemic stroke during treatment with dabigatran 2 × 110 mg per day. After informed consent, we reversed the anticoagulant effects of dabigatran using idarucizumab and applied an intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (off-label use).
