Sleep Architecture, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Cognitive Function in Adults
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: This study found that better sleep consolidation and the absence of OSA were associated with better global cognition over 5 years of follow-up. Sex Differences in 90-Day Functional Outcomes for Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Conclusions Males were found to have two times higher risk for developing poor functional outcomes at 90 days. This may be due to more severe oxygen desaturation, increased susceptibility to oxidative stress, and greater frequency of full airway obstruction in males. Study of the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in cerebral infarction patients
ConclusionObstructive sleep apnea Syndrome is a factor in the prognosis of cerebral infarction as well as cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension. Thus, understanding the risk of stroke in people with sleep apnea is necessary and working with a doctor to diagnose and treat sleep apnea is important.
