Abstract The term "shock" refers to a life-threatening circulatory failure caused by an imbalance between the supply and demand of cellular oxygen. Hypovolemic shock is characterized by a reduction of intravascular volume and a subsequent reduction in preload. This study aimed to establish how much time is spent on first‐aid training, which first‐aid measures are taught, and which factors prevent teachers from providing the quantity and quality of first‐aid training that they wish to give. Risk Stratification for Major Postoperative Complications in Patients Undergoing Intra-abdominal General Surgery Using Latent Class Analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: LCA can be used to classify patients undergoing intra-abdominal general surgery based on preoperative risk factors, and the classes are independently associated with postoperative complications. Inefficacy of Platelet Transfusion in a Heart Transplant Patient Under Continuous Ticagrelor
Antiplatelet agents have a predominant role in the therapeutic treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and myocardial infarction. Recently, ticagrelor has been incorporated in the European Society of Cardiology guidelines for the management of ACS with ST elevation and non-ST elevation.1 The AHA/ACC guidelines further advocate the choice of ticagrelor over clopidogrel in patients with ACS with non-ST elevation treated with an early invasive strategy.2 In fact, major studies have proven the benefits of ticagrelor on cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, and stroke without an increase in major bleeding risk.

Effects of arterial load variations on dynamic arterial elastance: an experimental study
Conclusions. Acute modifications of arterial load induced significant changes on Eadyn; vasodilatation increased Eadyn, whereas vasoconstriction decreased it. The Eadyn was associated with both arterial load and cardiac factors, suggesting that Eadyn should be more properly considered as a ventriculo-arterial coupling index.

Reversal of Anticoagulation With Dabigatran in an 82-Year-Old Patient With Traumatic Retroperitoneal Arterial Bleeding Using the New Antidote Idarucizumab: A Case Report
We report the case of an 82-year-old patient with traumatic retroperitoneal arterial bleeding under anticoagulation with dabigatran etexilate. By administration of idarucizumab, we successfully normalized coagulation and saved the patient from an operation. In the course of the disease, a slight reincrease in dabigatran etexilate plasma levels was observed 2 days after the reversal, which could lead to a new onset of bleeding.
