Neurological Involvement in Primary Systemic Vasculitis
Conclusion Neurological involvement is a common complication of PSV (Table 1), and neurologists play an important role in the identification and diagnosis of PSV patients with otherwise unexplained neurological symptoms as their chief complaint. This article summarizes the neurological manifestations of PSV and hopes to improve neuroscientists' understanding of this broad range of diseases. TABLE 1 Table 1. Common CNS and PNS involvements of primary systemic vasculitis. Author Contributions SZ conceived the article and wrote the manuscript. DY and GT reviewed and edited the manuscript. All authors ...

Yield of Screening Tests for Systemic Vasculitis in Young Adults with Ischemic Stroke
Systemic vasculitis, which can involve the brain, may be one of the causes of stroke in young adults; therefore, a test panel for systemic vasculitis is considered for some young stroke patients. However, little is known about this test ’s yield as a screening test in young adults with ischemic stroke. We evaluated the yield of a panel for systemic vasculitis as a screening test in young patients with ischemic stroke. Consecutive patients aged 18–45 years with ischemic stroke between January 2010 and December 2017 were included . They all underwent screening tests for systemic vasculitis including rheumatoid factor, an...

ANCA-Negative Churg –Strauss Syndrome Presenting as Acute Multiple Cerebral Infarcts: A Case Report
We report a case of a 63-year-old woman with multiple embolic infarcts, hypereosinophilia (for>7 years), and skin rash. Elevated cardiac enzymes and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging were consistent with endomyocarditis. The simultaneous presence of history of asthma, sinusitis, hypereosinophilia, and vasculitis led to the diagnosis of EGPA.

Multiple cerebral and cerebellar infarcts as the first clinical manifestation in a patient with Churg-Strauss syndrome: case report and literature review.
CONCLUSION: Symptoms and signs of central nervous system can be the initial neurological manifestation of CSS patients. CSS should be considered while patients have stroke and hypereosinophilia. In our patient, there is a good response to timely steroid, immunosuppressant and anticoagulant therapies. PMID: 23329548 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

A Rare Case of Churg Strauss Syndrome Associated with Cervical Spine and Brain Involvement (P4.037)
CONCLUSIONS:This patient meets four major criteria for diagnosis of CSS ( presence of sinusitis, histologic evidence of eosinophilic vasculitis, peripheral eosinophilia and pulmonary infiltrates). CSS associated with spine vasculitis is a rare but potentially serious clinical entity that may also lead to vascular/granulomatous compressive complications leading to permanent neurological damage. This may be only the second case of spinal cord non-hemorrhagic myelitis associated with CSS.Study Supported by:Disclosure: Dr. Mittal has nothing to disclose. Rare Presentation of Churg-Strauss Syndrome: Intracerebral Hemorrhage, Subdural Hemorrhage and an Intracranial Aneurysm (P2.103)
DISCUSSION:CSS can present with rare neurologic complications namely peripheral neuropathy, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke and much less commonly - intracranial aneurysms. Our patient also had cardiac masses that resolved after treatment with high dose steroids. Subdural hemorrhage along with a left MCA aneurysm related to CSS has not been previously reported in literature.Disclosure: Dr. Chahil has nothing to disclose. Dr. Morgan has nothing to disclose.
