Noncommunicable Diseases and Hospital Utilization in Kuwait: A Generalizable Approach Using the World Health Survey
Conclusions: We estimated the substantial burden on curative services associated with NCDs in Kuwait through a standardized approach to compare hospital utilization rates associated with various NCDs that is generalizable to more than 70 countries that participated in the World Health Survey.

Post Stroke Hyperglycemia as a marker of Stroke Severity and Prognosis: A cohort study
ConclusionFrom our study we can conclude that diabetes mellitus as a risk factor in cases of stroke leads to increase complications and worsens the outcome in cases of stroke whether hemorrhagic or ischemic.RecommendationsFrom our study we recommended strict control of diabetes mellitus when present in cases of stroke to avoid bad outcome and to prevent complications in these cases.

Risk prediction nomogram for major morbidity related to primary resection for esophageal squamous cancer
Conclusion: Morbidity models and nomograms incorporating clinical and surgical data can be used to predict operative risk for esophagectomy and provide appropriate resources for the postoperative management of high-risk patients.

Bariatric Surgery in the United Kingdom: A Cohort Study of Weight Loss and Clinical Outcomes in Routine Clinical Care
Conclusions Bariatric surgery as delivered in the UK healthcare system is associated with dramatic weight loss, sustained at least 4 y after surgery. This weight loss is accompanied by substantial improvements in pre-existing T2DM and hypertension, as well as a reduced risk of incident T2DM, hypertension, angina, MI, and obstructive sleep apnoea. Widening the availability of bariatric surgery could lead to substantial health benefits for many people who are morbidly obese.

Pre-existing diabetes and risks of morbidity and mortality after liver transplantation: A nationwide database study in an Asian population.
