Correction: Therapeutic potential of FLANC, a novel primate-specific long non-coding RNA in colorectal cancer
Pichler M, Rodriguez-Aguayo C, Nam SY, et al. Therapeutic potential of FLANC, a novel primate-specific long non-coding RNA in colorectal cancer. Gut 2020;69:1818–31. In figure 6A a wrong panel was included in the bottom row. The correct figure 6 is below. The figure legend remains the same. In the section: siRNA therapeutics targeting FLANC leads to decreased proliferation and metastasis in vivo the paragraph should read as: ‘Regarding tumour growth related parameters, we observed a lower number of mice with bioluminescence signals in the whole mouse (figure 6A), as well as in the isolated livers (figure 6B), i...

Speckle-Type POZ Protein Down-Regulates Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 Expression via Sp1/PI3K/Akt Signaling Pathway in Colorectal Cancer
ConclusionsSPOP could down-regulate MMP2 expression in CRC, and this regulation is mediated by inhibiting SP1 phosphorylation and nuclear translocation through PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Our findings in this study provide understanding of MMP2 regulation in CRC and may also shed lights on the development of anti-CRC treatments.

Downregulation of LncRNA-RP11-317J10.2 promotes cell proliferation and invasion and predicts poor prognosis in colorectal cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: This study reveals a crucial role for lncRNA-RP11-317J10.2 in CRC growth and invasion via upregulation of cyclin D1 expression and suggests that expression of this lncRNA may be a potential prognostic biomarker for CRC. PMID: 29073791 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Role of AXL in invasion and drug resistance of colon and breast cancer cells and its association with p53 alterations.
CONCLUSION: AXL is influenced by p53 status and could cause the emergence of aggressive clones after exposure to chemotherapy. These findings could have applications in cancer management. PMID: 28596680 [PubMed - in process]

The microtubule-associated protein PRC1 promotes early recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma in association with the Wnt/{beta}-catenin signalling pathway
Conclusions We identified PRC1 as a novel Wnt target that functions in a positive feedback loop that reinforces Wnt signalling to promote early HCC recurrence.

Activating ERBB2/HER2 mutations indicate susceptibility to pan-HER inhibitors in Lynch and Lynch-like colorectal cancer
Conclusions We developed a high-throughput deep sequencing approach for concomitant MSI and mutational analyses in FFPE specimens. We provided novel insights into clinically relevant alterations in MSI CRC and a rationale for targeting ERBB2/HER2 mutations in Lynch and Lynch-like CRC.

BCL-3 expression promotes colorectal tumorigenesis through activation of AKT signalling
Conclusions Our study helps to unravel the mechanism by which BCL-3 is linked to poor prognosis in colorectal cancer; we suggest that targeting BCL-3 activity represents an exciting therapeutic opportunity potentially increasing the sensitivity of tumour cells to conventional therapy.

Potential role of TRIM3 as a novel tumour suppressor in colorectal cancer (CRC) development.
Conclusions TRIM3 functions as a tumour suppressor in CRC progression. This tumour-suppressive function is exerted partially through regulation of p53 protein. Therefore, this protein may represent a novel therapeutic target for prevention or intervention of CRC. PMID: 26691157 [PubMed - in process]
