Functions and Clinical Significance of CACNA2D1 in Gastric Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: The present study indicates that CACNA2D1 regulates the apoptosis signaling pathway and may have potential as a biomarker for cancer growth and as a therapeutic target for GC.PMID:35445337 | DOI:10.1245/s10434-022-11752-5

Complement C5b-9 and Cancer: Mechanisms of Cell Damage, Cancer Counteractions, and Approaches for Intervention
In conclusion, osmotic burst of inflated complement-damaged cells may occur, but these bursts are most likely a consequence of metabolic collapse of the cell rather than the cause of cell death. The Complement Cell Death Mediator: A Concerted Action of Toxic Moieties Membrane pores caused by complement were first visualized by electron microscopy on red blood cell membranes as large ring structures (22). Similar lesions were viewed on E. coli cell walls (23). Over the years, ample information on the fine ultrastructure of the MAC that can activate cell death has been gathered (24) and has been recently further examined (...

CDH17 alters MMP-2 expression via canonical NF- κB signalling in human gastric cancer.
CDH17 alters MMP-2 expression via canonical NF-κB signalling in human gastric cancer. Gene. 2018 May 18;: Authors: Jiang XJ, Lin J, Cai QH, Zhao JF, Zhang HJ Abstract Gastric cancer (GC), one of the most common cancers of the digestive system, results in high morbidity and mortality, but the molecular mechanisms underlying GC remain largely unknown. Cadherin-17 (CDH17) is a nonclassical member of the cadherin (CDH) superfamily of calcium-dependent proteins. Despite recent advances in the understanding of CDH17 biology, the mechanism of CDH17 in GC proliferation, migration, and invasion has not been e...

The regulatory role of SLP-2 and mechanism on CCBE1 gene expression in rectal carcinoma and adjacent lymphatic tube tissues.
CONCLUSIONS: SLP-2 is up-regulated in RC lymphatic tissues, and is positively correlated with the level of CCBE1, which provides the academic the basis for the development of medicine targeting SLP-2 in the anti-rectal carcinoma therapy. PMID: 29364474 [PubMed - in process]
