Machine Vision and Image Analysis in Anesthesia: Narrative Review and Future Prospects
This article summarizes recently published works of interest, provides a brief overview of techniques used to create machine vision applications, explains frequently used terms, and discusses challenges the specialty will encounter as we embrace the advantages that this technology may bring to future clinical practice and patient care. As machine vision emerges onto the clinical stage, it is critically important that anesthesiologists are prepared to confidently assess which of these devices are safe, appropriate, and bring added value to patient care.PMID:37712476 | DOI:10.1213/ANE.0000000000006679

Ultrasound in the management of patients with psoriatic arthritis: systematic literature review and novel algorithms for pragmatic use
CONCLUSION: The SLR showed the interests in using ultrasound to objectively evaluate PsA for diagnosis and management. We proposed three practical algorithms to guide its use in the clinical management of patients, from the diagnosis to the assessment of treatment response. Further studies are needed to define remission and to assess ultrasound ability to predict disease severity.PMID:37714552 | DOI:10.3899/jrheum.2023-0091

Development of the prosencephalic structures, ganglionic eminence, basal ganglia and thalamus at 11  + 3 to 13 + 6 gestational weeks on 3D transvaginal ultrasound including normative data
CONCLUSION: Transvaginal 3D neurosonography allows visualization and measurement of normal structures in the fetal prosencephalon at 11 + 3 to 13 + 6 weeks of gestation (GW) including details of ganglionic eminence (GE), basal ganglia (BG), and thalamus/hypothalamus (Th/HyT). Tumoral and peritumoral vascularization of brain tumours: a study comparing an intraoperative ultrasensitive Doppler and a preoperative first-pass perfusion MRI

Wireless point-of-care ultrasound in a multiplace hyperbaric chamber
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the GE Vscan Air can be used with minor modification in a multi- place hyperbaric chamber. Wireless functionality allows for pairing with a screen and device outside the chamber.PMID:37708059
