The clinical outcomes of intra-articular injection of human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells vs. bone marrow aspirate concentrate in cartilage regeneration: a systematic review
CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review presents evidence that compared with BMAC injection, intra-articular hUCB-MSCs can induce significantly better tissue repair at 1 year after surgery, as assessed by the ICRS grade. Although there is only short-term follow-up evidence and a lack of histochemical evidence, our systematic review supports the recommendation to use hUCB-MSCs as the source of pluripotent stem cells for treating ICRS III cartilage lesions.PMID:37667930 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202308_33405

Factors influencing immunogenicity and safety of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in liver transplantation recipients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThe seroconversion rate in LTR vaccinated with at least two doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine could be significantly affected by the vaccine type, immunosuppressant used, BMI, leukopenia, associated comorbidities, and time since transplantation. Nevertheless, booster doses are still recommended for LTR.

Inflow Artery Aneurysmal Degeneration After Long Term Native Arteriovenous Fistula for Haemodialysis
CONCLUSION: Aneurysmal degeneration of the inflow artery is an unusual complication during long term follow up of AVFs. Aneurysm excision and, in general, autogenous graft interposition using the saphenous or ipsilateral arm vein is a safe and effective strategy.PMID:37659740 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2023.08.063

Lisocabtagene maraleucel for second-line relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma: patient-reported outcomes from the PILOT study
Haematologica. 2023 Aug 31. doi: 10.3324/haematol.2023.283162. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn the single-arm, open-label, multicenter, phase 2 PILOT study, second-line treatment with the chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy lisocabtagene maraleucel (liso-cel) in patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) for whom hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) was not intended resulted in high response rates, durable responses, and a safety profile consistent with previous reports. Here, we analyzed changes in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients who received liso-cel i...
