Immune and Antioxidant Enzyme Response of Longfin Yellowtail (Seriola rivoliana) Juveniles to Ultra-diluted Substances Derived from Phosphorus, Silica and Pathogenic Vibrio.
CONCLUSIONS:  The results suggest that the overall effect of H1 was due to the presence of unknown antigens in low concentrations, while the response to H2-specifically during challenge-may have been due to a stimulating effect of nano-structures, prevailing from mother tincture after sequential dilution/succussion, in a pathway similar to that attributed to nano-vaccines. Homeopathic Prevention and Management of Epidemic Diseases.
CONCLUSION:  Several different homeopathic methods can be used to treat epidemic diseases. The challenge for the future is to refine these approaches and to build on the knowledge base with additional rigorous trials. If and when conventional medicine runs out of options for treating epidemic diseases, homeopathy could be seen as an attractive alternative, but only if there is viable experimental evidence of its success. Influenza and influenza-like syndromes: the subjects ’ beliefs, the attitude to prevention and treatment, and the impact in Italian general population
ConclusionsSeasonal prevalence of I-LSs and influenza partially overlap. As virus identification is not a common procedure in daily practice, only a clinical discrimination is possible. Antibiotic prescription is still too high and largely inappropriate. Influenza vaccination is strongly encouraged, but different strategies are also used. Other approaches are receiving increasing attention in general population, and subjects ’ willingness to spend out-of-pocket for effective remedies is also increasing. The discrepancy between subjects’ beliefs and health care actions likely reflects the insufficiency of institutional ...

Efficacy of Arsenicum album 30cH in preventing febrile episodes following DPT-HepB-Polio vaccination - a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
CONCLUSION: Empirically selected Arsenicum album 30cH could not produce differentiable effect from placebo in preventing febrile episodes following DPT-HepB-Polio vaccination. [Trial registration: CTRI/2017/02/007939]. PMID: 29458932 [PubMed - in process]

The immunomodulatory effects of a commercial antiviral homeopathic compound in C57BL/6 mice, pre and post vaccine challenge.
Abstract Homeopathic remedies have been selectively employed in human medicine since Hahneman introduced the concept in 1828. While the use of homeopathy is regionally popular in both human and veterinary medicine, there is still a significant lack of scientific evidence supporting its efficacy. This is likely due to an absence of studies evaluating the mechanism of action of these compounds. Engystol® an FDA-approved antiviral agent, is a popular homeopathic commercial product. In select in vivo and in vitro observational studies, the drug showed a measureable innate immune therapeutic efficacy. The focus of the...

Preparation, standardization and in  vitro safety testing of Mycobacterium nosodes (Emtact- polyvalent nosode).
CONCLUSION: Mycobacterium nosodes sourced from individual strain and polyvalent Emtact nosode in vitro testing results found to be satisfactory for its handling and utilization. The nosode seems to be safe and may be tested further in vivo to explore its therapeutic application. PMID: 27473543 [PubMed - in process]

Parental Vaccine Hesitancy in Quebec (Canada)
This study aims to contribute to the ongoing reflections on tools and indicators of vaccine hesitancy by providing results of a survey on knowledge, attitudes and beliefs (KAB) of parents in Quebec (Canada). We have compared KAB of parents according to: 1) self-reported vaccination status of their child and 2) hesitation during the vaccination decision. Methods Data were collected through the 2014 Quebec study on vaccination against seasonal influenza and pneumococcal infections, a biennial repeated cross-sectional study in the province of Quebec, Canada. This paper presents the results pertaining to parents’ KAB about ...

Homeopathy in Africa versus ‘Civilised Countries’
Homoeopathic Links 2016; 29: 032-035DOI: 10.1055/s-0036-1572344The author, educated in classic homeopathy in the Netherlands from 1981 to 1985, discovered the big differences between practising homeopathy at home in the Netherlands and working in Malawi, Africa. In his opinion this is due to massive vaccination and the use of enormous amounts of allopathic drugs (in Europe). For the so-called ‘civilised world’ this is a catastrophe. To practise in this ‘civilised world’, the struggling homeopaths need ‘sophisticated homeopathy’. In Malawi only basic and straightforward homeopathy as taught by Hahnemann, Kent an...

Homeopathic medicines for prevention of influenza and acute respiratory tract infections in children: blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial.
CONCLUSION: These results suggested that the use of homeopathic medicines minimized the number of flu and acute respiratory infection symptomatic episodes in children, signalizing that the homeopathic prophylactic potential should be investigated in further studies. Current drug therapy and pharmaceutical challenges for chagas disease.
CURRENT DRUG THERAPY AND PHARMACEUTICAL CHALLENGES FOR CHAGAS DISEASE. Acta Trop. 2015 Dec 30; Authors: Bermudez J, Davies C, Simonazzi A, Pablo Real J, Palma S Abstract One of the most significant health problems in the American continent in terms of human health, and socioeconomic impact is Chagas disease, caused by the protozoan parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. Infection was originally transmitted by reduviid insects, congenitally from mother to fetus, and by oral ingestion in sylvatic/rural environments, but blood transfusions, organ transplants, laboratory accidents, and sharing of contaminated syring...

Vaccine Hesitancy: Clarifying a Theoretical Framework for an Ambiguous Notion
Conclusion In this paper, we have discussed some of the ambiguities and contradictions of the notion of vaccine hesitancy. We have argued that it is currently more a catchall category than a real concept. This lack of consistence is likely to hamper both research and interventions. Therefore, as a supplement to the previous work carried out by the SAGE working group, we propose grounding the notion of vaccine hesitancy in an explicit theoretical framework that takes some major structural features of contemporary societies into account. We consider VH to be a kind of decision-making process that depends on people’s level ...

Cross-sectional survey: Risk-averse French general practitioners are more favorable toward influenza vaccination.
CONCLUSION: Individual risk attitudes may influence GPs' practices regarding influenza vaccination, both for themselves and their patients. Our results suggest that risk-averse GPs may perceive the risks of influenza to outweigh the potential risks related to the vaccine. PMID: 25545596 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
