The use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) among Italian children: A cross-sectional survey.
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of children using CAM in Novara is high, in line with investigations conducted in Northern European countries. The distribution of pathologies treated with CAM, parental socio-economic status and general scepticism towards vaccination are consistent with the literature. Physicians should keep themselves up-to-date also about evidence-based CAM therapies and, most importantly, should have an open dialogue about CAM with their patients. A Systematic Review of Controlled Trials of Homeopathy in Adverse Effects of Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy in Cancer

A Case Report of Burning Mouth Syndrome Treated with Individualised Homeopathy.
CONCLUSION:  Considering the multi-factorial aetiology of BMS, a therapeutic approach such as iHOM that integrates the totality of symptoms and complaints of a patient might be of value in cases where an association of psychological factors and the neuralgic complaints is likely. Homeopathy for treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
CONCLUSIONS: The results for the outcomes assessed in this review are uncertain. Thus no firm conclusions regarding the effectiveness and safety of homeopathy for the treatment of IBS can be drawn. Further high quality, adequately powered RCTs are required to assess the efficacy and safety of clinical and individualised homeopathy for IBS compared to placebo or usual care. Case series of an alternative therapy for generalised lichen planus: Four case studies.
Authors: Nwabudike LC, Miulescu M, Tatu AL Abstract Lichen planus (LP) is an idiopathic, cell-mediated immune disorder, accompanied by itching. Spontaneous remission occurs. Case Report of an Abscess in a Bitch Healed with Alternative Medicine
Homœopathic Links DOI: 10.1055/s-0039-1693015The most widespread treatment for infected wounds, that enjoys the trust of the medical community, is antibiotherapy. After this, surgery can be considered, if there are recurrences or serious risks for the patient's health. The following reported case aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of natural therapies in the resolution of infections that occur with suppuration. A half-blood old bitch developed an encapsulated abscess on the back of her neck. An exhaustive clinical examination was done to diagnose an immune deficiency. This can explain the failure of antibiotics prescri...

Swiss paediatrician survey on complementary medicine.
CONCLUSIONS: In a representative sample of paediatricians in Switzerland, their personal attitude towards CM is positive, emphasised by great interest in CM training, a willingness to contribute to CM research and a high rate of paediatricians who use CM for themselves and their families. In contrast, the percentage of paediatricians offering CM is currently rather low despite strong demand for CM for children. This study provides key pointers for the future development of complementary and integrative medicine for children in Switzerland. PMID: 31203577 [PubMed - in process]

Perceptions of German patients consulting a general practitioner or a gynaecologist on conventional medicine, naturopathy and holistic/ alternative medicine
ConclusionsIn order to have a common background in communication with the patient it seems very important to clearly define terms associated with complementary, alternative and integrative medicine. Allowing patients to differentiate between reasonable, integrative approaches according to the definition of the National Center of Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH; USA) on one hand and questionable treatment concepts on the other could facilitate communication between physicians and patients so that patients are able to make better treatment decisions.
