Clinical Utility of Sero-Immunological Responses Against SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein During Subsequent Prevalence of Wild-Type, Delta Variant, and Omicron Variant
In conclusion, nucleocapsid antibody provides instructive clues about the immunogenicity of nucleocapsid proteins by different seroconversion rates and titers according to the severity of infection, host immune status, and different variants of concern.PMID:37724496 | PMC:PMC10506902 | DOI:10.3346/jkms.2023.38.e292

The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Development of COVID ‑19 Vaccine
Dear Editor, The coronavirus disease ‑2019 (COVID‑19) pandemic is a phenomenon that has infected and killed many people in many countries. Vaccination has been suggested as a good way to fight COVID‑19, and it is certainly important to design a safe and effective vaccine. In the healthcare system, artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as an effective tool. The use of AI in diagnosing various health conditions and interpreting complex medical issues is very significant. AI capabilities can be used as an effective tool to study SARS‑CoV‑2 and its capabilities, virulence, and genome. For example, machine learning...

Nonclinical safety assessment of an mRNA Covid ‐19 vaccine candidate following repeated administrations and biodistribution
AbstractMessenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines have demonstrated efficacy against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) in humans. mRNA technology holds tremendous potential for rapid control and prevention of emergencies due to its flexibility with respect to production, application, and design for an efficacious and safe use in humans. We assessed the toxicity and biodistribution of MRT5500, an mRNA vaccine encoding for the full-length of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and delivered by lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) containing a novel ionizable lipid, Lipid-1 in preclinical animal models. In the repeated dose tox...

Non-infectious uveitis risk after Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination: A nationwide retrospective cohort study
Since the onset of the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, a rapid surge in the number of cases during the initial outbreak precipitated the prompt development and distribution of vaccines for the general population. As of April 2023, 69.8% of the world's population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine,1 and in the Republic of Korea, 87.6% of the population (approximately 44.8 million individuals) has received at least one dose.2

COVID-19 vaccine in hemodialysis patients: Time for a boost
CONCLUSION: The results show a dose-dependent association between IgG antibody levels and the number COVID-19 vaccines received. The study highlights the need for booster COVID-19 vaccination for patients on hemodialysis.PMID:37717958 | DOI:10.15537/smj.2023.44.9.20230285
