Effectiveness of using high-fidelity simulation on learning outcomes in undergraduate nursing education: systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Stakeholders within the academic institution may consider enculturating the involvement of high-fidelity simulation as part of an innovative teaching strategy in nursing curricula. ) Abstract Effective teaching in pharmacology and clinical pharmacology and therapeutics (CPT) is necessary to make medical students competent prescribers. However, the current structure, delivery, and assessment of CPT education in the European Union (EU) is unknown. Design of a foundational sciences curriculum: Applying the ICAP framework to pharmacology education in integrated medical curricula
Comparison of pharmacology education practices at seven U.S. Allopathic medical schools revealed a mixture of teaching sessions where pharmacology was taught independently or in an integrated manner with other disciplines. Application of an active learning framework to the pedagogies used at these institutions suggests that integrated sessions are more active compared to standalone pharmacology sessions. We suggest a careful balance needs to be achieved between active and passive teaching approaches to avoid fragmenting and diluting the flow of topics in pharmacology education.
