Fruit- and Vegetable-Focused Grocery Store Tour Training Kit to Promote Peer-on-Peer Nutrition Education Utilizing Nutrition and Dietetics Students
Large numbers of older adolescents and young adults consume inadequate amounts of fruits and vegetables. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data reveal that only a small number of American adolescents, adult men, and adult women meet recommended calorie-specific and median cup intake levels for fruits and vegetables.1,2 Because of the well-documented impact of diet on preventing chronic disease,3 nutrition interventions designed to increase fruit and vegetable consumption in traditional-age undergraduate college students (aged 18–24 years) may improve the nation’s health for decades to come.

A clustered randomized controlled trial to determine impacts of the Harvest of the Month program
This study suggests that the HOTM program did not affect eating behaviors or physical activity behaviors. The evidence base regarding school-based nutrition education programs including HOTM could be strengthened by the use of more rigorous impact evaluations to examine their effectiveness prior to wide-spread use.

NP19 A Supermarket Intervention to Promote Fruit and Vegetable Consumption Among Low-Income Families
Few Americans meet national recommendations for fruit and vegetable (FV) consumption, and the high price of fresh produce is a commonly cited barrier.We conducted a randomized controlled trial to determine if a same-day, two-for-one FV coupon (Double Bucks) combined with a point-of-purchase nutrition education program (Cooking Matters) would increase FV purchases and consumption among low-income families who were regular customers of a rural Maine supermarket.
