High-Dose Methotrexate: Nursing Considerations for Administration and Supportive Care
This article provides an overview of HDMTX treatment and nursing considerations, including toxicities, components of supportive care management, and strategies to manage administration and delayed elimination of MTX.METHODS: A review of published literature and guidelines was performed to evaluate nursing considerations for patients receiving HDMTX.FINDINGS: Using existing and novel tools, nurses can closely monitor patients and provide supportive care to mitigate HDMTX toxicity. Early identification of delayed MTX elimination and subsequent treatment with glucarpidase, if appropriate, has been associated with shorter leng...

The potential protectivity of honey and olive oil in methotrexate induced renal damage in rats
This study aimed to assess the possible protective effect of H and OO intake either singly or together against the biochemical and structural Methotrexate-induced nephrotoxicity in rats. The study was conducted on 56 adult albino rats, they were divided into seven groups (n = 8): group 1 received only distelled water (negative control), group 2 received H (1.2g/kg/day), group 3 received OO (1.25ml/kg/day), group 4 received a single intraperitoneal injection of MTX (20mg/kg), group 5 received MTX and H, group 6 received MTX and OO, group 7 received MTX, H and OO together. At the end of the experiment (2 weeks), all rats wer...

Retrospective pharmacogenetic study of psoriasis highlights the role of KLK7 in TNF signaling
CONCLUSIONS: Our study implicates the genetic regulation of cytokine responses in predicting clinical drug response and supports the association between pharmacogenetic loci and anti-TNF response, as shown here for KLK7.PMID:37672660 | DOI:10.1093/bjd/ljad332
