The most prevalent allergenic airborne pollens among Egyptian patients with respiratory allergy
ConclusionDifference in results of SPT performed to patients across different countries is explained by the difference in climates, which affects pollination, Egypt is considered to have a dry, desert-like climate in addition to its coastal regions. Our results revealed that both timothy grass and maize pollens were the most prevalent among Egyptian respiratory allergy patients.

There's an allergy epidemic in Africa, and not enough specialists to deal with it
(Elsevier) Allergies are on the rise in Africa, but with too few specialists to treat them, and a parallel increase in immune deficiency diseases, the situation is worse than we thought. According to researchers from Ain Shams University in Egypt in an article in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the answer is more funding, motivated governments and better scientific partnerships.

MHC-II deficiency among Egyptians: novel mutations and unique phenotypes
ConclusionGiven that Egypt is a North African country with a high rate of consanguinity, MHC-II deficiency is not rare. However, the molecular defects differ from those reported in nearby countries. Early diagnosis must be based upon suspicious clinical signs and laboratory diagnosis since the defect can be missed by T cell receptor excision circles based neonatal screening.

Interferon-gamma Expression Profile as Diagnostic Signatures of Unexplained Infertility in Female Patients Suffer from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis
In this study, we examined 120 women with HT. We evaluated fertility in all patients; female patients who suffer from UEI were detected. Diagnosis of HT was based on the clinical data and the laboratory measures, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to measure serum IFN- γ, and the expression of IFN-γ messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) was assayed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). According to the results of this study, 37.5 % of the studied females who suffered from HT were diagnosed with UEI.
