Quality of Documentation of Contrast Agent Allergies in Electronic Health Records
ConclusionContrast allergy records in EHRs are diverse and commonly low quality. Continued EHR enhancements and training are needed to support contrast allergy documentation to facilitate improved patient care and medical research.

ConclusionsUsing free-text search of the EHR allergy module identified a large US DRESS syndrome cohort. DRESS prevalence was 2.18 per 100,000 patients. Both liver and kidney injury were frequent, and vancomycin was the most common drug culprit. DRESS cases were morbid and resource-intensive.

Characteristics of Persistent Penicillin Allergy Labels in a Large Electronic Health Record Database
Penicillin allergy labels are prevalent, and associated with inferior individual and public health outcomes. Most penicillin allergy histories are either low risk or inaccurate:>96% of patients reporting penicillin allergy are negative on formal testing. To better target specific populations for penicillin allergy de-labeling we aimed to define characteristics of patients persistently labeled as penicillin allergic.

A Pharmacogenomics Clinical Decision Support Service Based on FHIR and CDS Hooks.
CONCLUSIONS:  In conclusion, we have found that PGx CDS based on FHIR and CDS Hooks appears to represent a promising means of genomics-EHR integration. Drug Hypersensitivity Reactions Documented in Electronic Health Records within a Large Health System
ConclusionDrug HSRs were reported in 13.8% of patients. Almost one-half of reported immediate HSR phenotypes were hives and almost all reported delayed HSR phenotypes were rash. HSRs largely affected female and white patients, but differences were identified for specific rare HSRs.

Incidence and risk factors of pediatric asthma exacerbations in a multinational, multidatabase cohort study
Conclusions: In a real world setting, we showed high AE rates, with highest rates in children with severe asthma. Risk of exacerbation depended on age, gender, comorbidities and previous AE. A semi-automated approach to identifying chronic cough in electronic health records
Chronic cough (CC) of eight or more weeks affects up to 10% of adults and may lead to expensive treatments and reduced quality of life. Incomplete diagnostic coding complicates identifying CC in electronic health records (EHRs). Natural language processing (NLP) of EHR text could improve CC detection.

Clinical Decision Support Systems for Drug Allergy Checking: Systematic Review
Conclusions: Accurate and comprehensive recording of drug allergies is required for good use of CDSS for drug allergy screening. We found considerable variation in the way drug allergy are recorded in EHRs. It remains difficult to reduce drug allergy alert overload while maintaining patient safety as the highest priority. Future research should focus on improving alert specificity, thereby reducing override rates and alert fatigue. Also, the effect on patient outcomes and cost-effectiveness should be evaluated.
