Next Phase of NIH Preprint Pilot Launching Soon
Last month, the National Library of Medicine (NLM)announced plans to extend its NIH Preprint Pilot in PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed beyond COVID-19 to encompass all preprints reporting on NIH-funded research. Second Phase of the NIH Preprint Pilot Launched
Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of the second phase of the NIH Preprint Pilot with the addition of more than 700 new preprint records to PubMed Central (PMC) and PubMed. This second phase expands the scope of the Pilot to include preprints resulting from all NIH-funded research. Eligible preprints are those acknowledging direct support of an NIH award or authored by NIH staff and posted to bioRxiv, medRxiv, arXiv, or Research Square, on or after January 1, 2023. This systematic search strategy demonstrated a high sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy for identifying publications resulting from pharmacy residency projects using information available in residency conference abstracts.

Firefighter Bradley Long, 28, was one of three divers searching for a 29-year old man in Lake Norman on Monday. Identifying complications of interventional procedures from UK routine healthcare databases: a systematic search for methods using clinical codes
Conclusions:
The four distinct methods identifying complication from codified data offer great potential in generating new evidence on the quality and safety of new procedures using routine data. However the most robust method, using the methodology recommended by the NHS Classification Service, was the least frequently used, highlighting that much valuable observational data is being ignored.

Data Flash: RIP PubMed Health
This is not exactly a data post, but, the loss of a trusted source for clinical effectiveness research will have its effects on the dataverse. PubMed Health is being discontinued as of this coming Wednesday. As any of my colleagues can tell you, I’m taking the loss of PubMed Health hard– I loved showing it to people at various conferences, and using it myself– I found it a wonderful mid-point between MedlinePlus.gov and PubMed.gov, and it also had some great methodology resources and a glossary. All of its content will be findable in other ways though!

It also identifies an unmet need for improved communication and information tools that convey MS information in a relatable manner. Furthermore, this review seeks to address this unmet need by providing plain language figures and descriptions of MS immune mechanisms that can be used to facilitate discussions between HCPs and PwMS.
