Gastric cancer incidence based on endoscopic Kyoto classification of gastritis
CONCLUSION: A high total Kyoto score (≥ 4) was associated with GC incidence. The endoscopy-based diagnosis of gastritis can stratify GC risk.PMID:37664152 | PMC:PMC10473921 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v29.i31.4763

Poly(A)-specific ribonuclease protein promotes the proliferation, invasion and migration of esophageal cancer cells
CONCLUSION: PARN has antiapoptotic effects on EC cells and promotes their proliferation, invasion and migration, which is associated with the development of EC and poor patient prognosis. PARN may become a potential target for the diagnosis, prognosis prediction and treatment of EC.PMID:37664151 | PMC:PMC10473923 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v29.i31.4783

Diagnostic value of conventional endoscopic ultrasound for lymph node metastasis in upper gastrointestinal neoplasia: A meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Conventional EUS has certain clinical value and can assist in the detection of LNM in upper gastrointestinal neoplasia, but it cannot be used as a confirmatory or exclusionary test.PMID:37662859 | PMC:PMC10472901 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v29.i30.4685

The comprehensive review of gastric adenocarcinoma and proximal polyposis of the stomach (GAPPS) from diagnosis and treatment
Ann Gastroenterol Surg. 2023 Jun 21;7(5):725-732. doi: 10.1002/ags3.12708. eCollection 2023 Sep.ABSTRACTGastric adenocarcinoma and proximal polyposis of the stomach (GAPPS) was first proposed by Wothley et al. in 2012 as a rare familial gastric cancer syndrome associated with an autosomal dominant form of inheritance. GAPPS is characterized by gastric basal gland polyposis from the hilum to the body of the stomach. Li et al. in 2016 showed that the cause of the disease is a point mutation in the promotor 1B region of the APC gene, and genetic testing was used to confirm the diagnosis. If the patient has already developed g...

High-mobility group box 1 overexpression predicts a poor prognosis and promotes EMT in gastric cancer by activating TLR4/NF- κB signaling
Conclusion HMGB1 is highly expressed in GC tissues and is associated with a poorer prognosis in patients with GC. HMGB1 activates the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway to promote EMT progression in GC cell lines. HMGB1 may be a critical molecule in prognosis prediction and a therapeutic target for patients with GC.PMID:37666221 | DOI:10.1159/000533927

miRNA/epithelial-mesenchymal axis (EMT) axis as a key player in cancer progression and metastasis: A focus on gastric and bladder cancers
Cell Signal. 2023 Sep 2:110881. doi: 10.1016/j.cellsig.2023.110881. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe metastasis a major hallmark of tumors that its significant is not only related to the basic research, but clinical investigations have revealed that majority of cancer deaths are due to the metastasis. The metastasis of tumor cells is significantly increased due to EMT mechanism and therefore, inhibition of EMT can reduce biological behaviors of tumor cells and improve the survival rate of patients. One of the gaps related to cancer metastasis is lack of specific focus on the EMT regulation in certain types of tumor cells....
