We report that electrical stimulation (ES) stimulation of post-stroke aged rats led to an improved functional recovery of spatial long-term memory (T-maze), but not on the rotating pole or the inclined plane, both tests requiring complex sensorimotor skills. Surprisingly, ES had a detrimental effect on the asymmetric sensorimotor deficit.

Pneumococcal conjugate vaccines for preventing acute otitis media in children.
CONCLUSIONS: Administration of the licenced CRM197-PCV7 and PHiD-CV10 during early infancy is associated with large relative risk reductions in pneumococcal AOM. However, the effects of these vaccines on all-cause AOM is far more uncertain based on low- to moderate-certainty evidence. CONCLUSION: Telemedical care within the framework of a telephone consultation is well-suited for selected patients. In conclusion, this study supports the association of diabetes as a principal risk factor for SARS-CoV-2 infection in the Mexican population. The results do not support previous associations between blood group or influenza vaccination as protective factors against SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, frequent consumption of polyunsaturated fats is highlighted as a new possible associated factor with COVID-19, which more studies should corroborate as with all novel findings.

Acute Retinal Pigment Epitheliitis following Vaccination
We present a rare case of acute retinal pigment epitheliitis (ARPE) following vaccination. An 18-year-old Japanese man visited our hospital with a 5-day history of a central scotoma in the right eye. He had received the second dose of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination (BNT162b2 mRNA, Pfizer-BioNTech) 1 month prior, following which he developed a low-grade fever of 37.3 –37.5°C for 2 days accompanied by joint pain. Safety of co-administration of mRNA COVID-19 and seasonal inactivated influenza vaccines in the vaccine adverse event reporting system (VAERS) during July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022
DISCUSSION: This review of reports to VAERS following co-administration of mRNA COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccines did not reveal any unusual or unexpected patterns of AEs. Increased reporting of certain events (e.g., COVID-19 disease) was expected. I go against the grain on this one. Let chiropractors prescribe medications.
