Complementary and Alternative Medicine Use and Its Association with Quality of Life among Cancer Patients Receiving Chemotherapy in Ethiopia: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Prevalence and Correlates of Complementary and Alternative Medicine Use among Hypertensive Patients in Gondar Town, Ethiopia.
Conclusions. The higher prevalence of CAM use among hypertensive patients coupled with a very low disclosure rate to their health care providers can have a marked potential to cause ineffective hypertensive management and adverse effects due to CAM use. Prevalence and Characteristics of CAM Use among People Living with HIV and AIDS in Lebanon: Implications for Patient Care.
This study aimed to assess the prevalence and determinants of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) use among People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) in Lebanon and to identify related issues that may affect patient care. A cross-sectional survey design was used to interview 116 PLWHA in Beirut. The questionnaire addressed sociodemographic and disease characteristics as well as CAM use. Complementary and alternative medicine in Brazilian children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
CONCLUSIONS: The construction of the profile revealed a group of patients that deserve a special attention by health professionals because they are more prone to adopt behaviors that impair the success of the treatment, such as not counting carbohydrates and not informing the doctor about the use of CAM. Complementary and alternative medicine practices among Type 2 diabetes patients in Pakistan: A Qualitative insight
ConclusionReligious practices, herbal and household remedies were the main CAM practices observed in this study. Proper understanding of patients’ perspectives towards CAM can help health care professionals adopt a more patient-centred approach, optimize good pharmaceutical care planning and ensure safe practice.

The use of complementary and alternative medicine in children with atopic eczema at a tertiary care centre in Malaysia.

Integrating herbal medicine into oncology care delivery: development, implementation, and evaluation of a novel program
ConclusionsThe study ’s findings support the feasibility of integrating herbal medicine into an academic oncology setting. Patient satisfaction with HOP was high, with limited adverse events. The patterns of herbal prescriptions in HOP suggest future areas for clinical research to strengthen the evidence base around s afe and effective use.
